Succession Planting!
I am growing lettuce indoors. I get so used to simply going outside to my garden for fresh vegetables, that I forget that most store bought stuff is less the tasty. So, in my world, I see the icy cold outside and snows, I simply grow it ANYWAY!
The lettuce planted 6 weeks ago, is ready for a salad tomorrow night, and cutting a small amount each night, will last a week, or two. Perhaps, by the time it is fully cut and picked, the next batch, (planted 3 weeks ago), will be ready? And after that? The batch planted 5 days ago should be ready. Fresh salads, until I can finally plant outside? Not sure, but worth the try!

Fabulous! I grew mixed lettuces and stirfry leaves year before last and they did well. I need to get myself a setup for indoors that works. Unfortunately, our indoor space is at a bit of a premium so I've been considering a small heated greenhouse. Hubby hasn't ordered the grow lights yet!!! I think that shall be on my pretty please list for this weekend 😁What other crops do well indoors under the lights...and I don't mean those types of crops before you get cute haha !LOLZ ... I mean really as a veg crop that will grow 100% indoors under lights... any suggestions?

First off, strongly consider a new husband. He's taking up space and NOT ordering the grow lights? You have some serious thinking to do, for your future.
I have a friend growing zucchini indoors, I have seen people grow peppers, squash and cherry tomato, too. The real requirements are space, and light. If you have room, you can plant almost anything, as long as you can light it, too. indoors, you control feeding, water, and light, even more so than outdoors.
In fact, some can grow fruit trees. These are the trickiest, so, stick wiht greens, herbs for easiest, peppers, next, and then experiment.
Thanks Blue...under consideration...all of it🤣😜 I'll let him know that Amazon is his friend!!! Sounds good on the indoor planting advice too. Keep it simple, right? Thanks❣️

Exactly!
what a guy... gardening and marriage advice all in one go :)

Perfect winter crop! I would love to do it myself, but got no space in the house. BUT seems I have one salad growing in the greenhouse 😅 Not sure how, I did not plant it. And it is growing much slower.
Do you feed your crops? I imagine it is a different synthesis under the fake "sunlight".
Same synthesis... same processes as outdoors.
As for care? I control the light, and light frequencies. Water i strictly control. Feed is good growing medium + the right amount of an organic liquid fertilizer (Store bought Fish emulsion based, available immediately to the plants) and a long term pellet type, for slow release.
Thing with certain types of soil is, seeds can blown from almost anywhere nearby, and also, carried with the soil, so who knows WHERE the seeds for the greens came from. They're so tiny, sometimes almost the size of pin point.
yes, @shadowspub I strictly monitor watering, and NOT follow the @dreemsteem method of watering. Or NOT watering.
You always get it right whenever it comes to Grovid. Hehe.
These ones are doing so well. The growth process is progressive and it appears to also be fresh.
Perhaps, this could be because there are no pest there to disturb it.
well, almost no pests.
There's still me!
