Lithuanian Sea Museum - A Visual Story Part #1 - Playing with Grey Seals (9 Photos)
Klaipeda is pretty small city with only 150K population. And basically it is port city without too much entertainment activities overall. There are only few museums and Lithuanian Sea Museum really stands out for all Lithuania as per size and exposition.
Located on Curoanian Spit, very close to south part of the gates to the port of Klaipeda, it occupies about 16 hectares. In 1994 additionally a Dolphinarium was opened nearby, which is only one of a kind at Eastern Baltic.
Situated in an old castle, museum has really very special feeling. The collections and expositions includes grey seals and sea lions, penguins, various sea flora and fauna in a smaller and one large rounded aquarium. Other collections include shells, corals, sea birds, crustaceans and many many others.
Have to mention, that this series was made back to 2013 and before quite a big reconstruction. Now museum looks more modern, but honestly speaking haven't found possibility to go there yet to shoot it again.
So we will go to an older version, which is not less interesting anyway
And lets start from some Grey Seals, which are swimming freely at Summer time in an old fortification system filled with water.
Enjoy the story and next parts to come shortly!
