Attending The Job Interview with HIVE Mindset

In this COVID situation, it was hard to find a job here. So finally one of the agencies I have contacted replied yesterday. They had a vacancy for 8 workers in the packing section of food products. It was all they said. Due to the financial situations, I thought it's better to go for it. My friend was also with me.

They told me to reach there at 9 o'clock in the morning. The job was at a warehouse, the products from a different place come in big containers. We have to unpack it and label it in the name of the brand we are working for. If we are selected then we have to stay there for a month. Due to the COVID situation, they won't allow going home and coming back every day.

These all are the job description they have told us, there wasn't any information about the salary.

We reached there at about 8: 30 in the morning, It was near a gas plant, So it was not a crowded area. We were on the bike, so we saw two ladies standing in front of the warehouse from far. I have heard from the agent that these two ladies we're the supervisors. The manager will be the one who will be interviewing us.

We glanced a smile the next moment they saw us coming, but their face was full of silence. They don't even try to ask our names. They started acting like we were there to beg from them. Even after that, we tried to start a chat to know about the situation there. I asked one of the ladies about the job.

Her reply was another question, "What does the agent tell you?". It was a bit harsh.

I replied that they told us packing was our job. Then there was a smile between the ladies, they were making fun of us. Then one the ladies conducted a short speech,

" It is not all just about packing, it's all about loading and unloading heavy packages from these containers. If you have any break time you have to pack. There is no tea break for the worker's, there's just the lunch break. You can go home only twice in a month. There's no job interview, you can start from now on. Wait for the manager to come"

That was far away from what I have expected. I felt the whole warehouse set up were to trap us. The job is not as described, it was about 8 hours a day and the funny fact is that the salary isn't even close to my monthly hive earnings.

Even after that, we waited for about an hour for the manager to come. We were standing there for about an hour and everybody was ignoring us. All those ladies and other workers stArted there work and we felt like we are invisible to them.

It was kind of insulting, we haven't begged for giving us money. Just searching for a job. I knew that my friend was also exhausted. We left that place without asking anyone. We knew that it wasn't a place for us. We left and started riding the bike towards the hill station near us.

Now we are sitting at the top, It feels better Sitting here and looking at the chaotic world out there.
