EXPLORING THE HIVE COMMUNITY

avatar

Beautiful evening hivers, recently we have had alot of newbies onboarding the platform and also old steemians who had never given hive a trial probably because they lost hope after giving up on steem but thanks to the pump in price that occurred last week, now everyone believes that hive might have a future. Personally I have never stopped believing in hive, even from the onset,I have been here and I have come to stay.

Sounds interesting right? I hope you were motivated by that.

In respect to @zord189 post here am going to be sharing some tips to the newbies to help them blend with the community and also not to loose hope.

I believe by now you all have gotten your accounts and saved your keys properly, one of the few things you would always see appear twice whenever you are signing up for anything involving keys is that you will be warned that once your key is missing you would not be able to recover it because only you bear your key,so this is just a reminder, keep your active, posting and main keys safe.

  • POSTING: I don't know the mindset to which you came to hive with, but if it's just to earn then you might want to rethink at this point, don't get me wrong, earning is part of it,we all want to be rewarded for our efforts but there is something more to it,you need to make your blog to be quite interactive, you can come up with something interesting that would always want to make people to come check your blog out,if you have a particular niche like @maxwellmarcusart good, you can keep doing what you know how to do best, but if you are versatile it's still good, however try your best to maintain quality posts, always ensure you reference your source whenever you use quotes or images that are not yours, plagiarism is a "no no" in hive and you would be punished for it if you do so.

  • COMMUNITIES:There are several communities here on hive like the gems,ocd,qurator,hive-nija etc. You can click "the explore communities" button to check out others. There are so many, but you have check them out because each community have a certain kind of posts or contents they are interested in featuring in their community,we also have those that support any kind of post but it's best to share posts to communities that appreciate your content more, for instance, the Inkwell community supports posts on poems, fictions, stories,so it's going to be wrong to be posting a food content in the community,we also have communities supporting arts, sports etc. Also try to be consistent in communities you subscribed to.

  • INTERACTION: No man can stand on his own,we rise by helping others, everyone needs supports to grow in the hive community and interaction is the key,you interact by engaging in other people's blog, don't just post and go,try to also check other authors in your niche and familiarise with them, build relationships on the blockchain because this relationships will help you offline,I have friends back from the days of steemit and we have maintained the friendship till date,it has also helped my business as I get friends who patronize me because they got to know me and believed in me.

  • CONTEST:One of the things that will help you survive,be happy and feel rewarded for your efforts here on hive is participating in contests, that is one of the fastest ways to grow unless you are a whale who is getting returns from upvoting people's votes, but if you upvote Worth's nothing like mine, please hop in to the contest tag with me and get creative, you would be amazing how you would grow and achieve things ordinarily you wouldn't have achieved by mere blogging everyday within a week.

I would stop here, the truth is that there is never an end to learning, you also learn while on the job,so the more you get to blend into the community, the more you gain more understanding but I believe the few tips I shared will go a long way for a beginner, please you can also feel free to join our "Hive bootcamp" on WhatsApp,this is a group where you can ask questions about things you are confused about in hive and be sure to get quick responses, you would always be updated with happenings on hive as we have active hivers who are willing to share their success secrets to everyone to help US grow.

See you at the top!
