Minnowhood

I'm not one to bang my own drum normally, but in this world I find myself posting in becoming a Minnow seems to be a rather big deal so let's celebrate!

Just do your thing

I've found in life just do your own thing your own way. If you succeed or not what matters is that you've been true to yourself and your ideals and to remember the folks that helped you along the way.

With a little help from our friends

For this part of the journey the number one guru/mentor has been @justinparke. With seemingly unlimited patience, wisdom and encouragement, he's helped me tremendously. I started at zero. With bicycles I love to ride them not fix them. For me writing is the same. I love to write but can't be too bothered with all the technical aspects here. Luckily for me I have friends that love tinkering with the more technical aspects of my interests. @justinparke and I are more than online friends. Before moving to Cambodia I somehow found him online and contacted him. Upon arriving in Kampot I met him and his family @SreyPov and @KidSisters. We've been close friends since. They saved me with some fantastic vegan food and treated me like family. The entire family has some amazing posts. Be sure to check them out! What a story they are living...

Community feeling

I've met lots of other people here and had some really interesting chats with them. My path in life isn't a standard one so this community allows me to find a common understanding with others living and think in similar ways. I feel like I'm learning more and more about myself through reading the other posts in all of the fantastic communities. Some of the ones that I've been exploring of late are:

A very interesting group full of travel stories from around the globe. This gives the real story of places without biased advertising or glorified reviews. I really love seeing the pictures and reading about the travels of other people. Quite inspiring and motivating.

Natural Medicine Community - https://peakd.com/c/hive-120078/about. This is THE place for anything natural and health related. I know a bit about natural health but am truly a minnow compared to the knowledge shared here. Wonderful stuff! I'll let them describe the community: "Celebrating & Rewarding Natural Health. 'Urban Exploration' https://peakd.com/c/hive-104387/about is a @curie curated community supporting Urbex Photography and Stories content from around the World. I've always had a thing for abandoned houses, urban decay, and street art. This community tickles my fancy in every way! I highly recommend perusing the posts. Some really great stories and photography!

Market Friday https://peakd.com/c/hive-196308/about created by @dswigle. It turns out that she oddly enough knows my childhood neighborhood quite well. "Sharing different markets and cultures across the globe as we go places, do things, and buy merchandise." I love markets. Especially in Asia. I learned in India, sit, drink a tea in the market and you will see the world walking by. Its much easier than chasing the world around. I really enjoy reading the posts and even more the photos from markets around the world.

ASEAN Hive Community https://peakd.com/c/hive-141359/about is the place for Southeast Asian content on Hive. Give a big shout out to @justinparke for creating this community for the previously underserved ASEAN members. This is an up and coming community with a huge potential especially once Indonesia becomes more involved. ASEAN Hive member countries include Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam. I really enjoy reading the posts here and especially hearing the music.

Thanks for the encouragement! You're right. The beginning is great and then steadily downhill until (so I hear) it gets better haha. That's payout wise of course. The other aspects of it are just great :)
