Sepia Saturday - Blooms of Spring
This is the first Sepia post I've done in some time and I forgot how much I enjoy it. At first I had planned on doing birds but I decided to do blooms instead.
Nothing says Spring quite like Plum and Cherry Blossoms, their blooms are usually the first sign that Spring is here. The following images were all taken around the first week of April just as the Plum trees were in full swing.
Unfortunately these blossoms don't last long under the best of conditions and locally we still get a lot of wind and a fair amount of rain during April so we get to enjoy them for a couple of week at most before they all get blown off.
These shots are from the Plum tree out front at a friend's apartment building.
These blooms stick around a lot longer that most as they are blooming plums and do not fruit.
This tree is also a dwarf as are the others around the property and they put on a spectacular display of blooms followed by bright crimson leaves that light up in the sun.
These come from a wild Cherry tree growing out of a hillside. This whole area was brushed off a few years back and a couple of old Cherry trees were taken out. This little guy isn't really a tree yet only a single stalk about an inch in diameter and 5 feet tall but it's covered in blooms.
If it's not hacked down and left alone it will become a full blown fruiting cherry tree again.
Thanks For Stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the images =)
Flower in color for the Ladies =)
