Delicious empanadas [Home preparation]

Hello friends of HIVE, I want you to enjoy this delicious recipe like me, homemade empanadas.

Empanadas can be filled with whatever you like best, but in this case I made them very simple.

Using our ingenuity and motivation is everything. With this, we can create even what seems most difficult, it's just a matter of wanting to do it.

Making the empanadas is very easy, we just need the following ingredients:

CornmealVegetable oil
Hard cheeseSalt
SugarWheat flour
Water

Ingredients that we find in the comfort of our homes, because they are common when preparing any meal.


Step 1.

We will use two (02) cups of corn flour, for approximately twelve (12) empanadas, of normal size.

Step 2.

Add two (02) tablespoons of wheat flour and one (01) teaspoon of salt, on top of the cornmeal.

Step 3.

Add four (04) cups of water to the dry ingredients, previously united in the bowl of preference.

Step 4.

The rest will be to use our hands to carry out the kneading. Then, we introduce our hands to knead and join and compact the flour until it is smooth and manageable.

Step 5.

We make several balls of dough, with which we will make each empanada.

Step 6.

We spread the dough ball in a bag, (it can be precooked flours, or another that is made of hard but flexible plastic material).

By spreading the dough in the bag, add the cheese.

Step 7.

We place a part of the plastic bag over the dough, to close it, and later with our hands, we extend so that both parts are sealed. Make a kind of big smile around our dough.

Step 8.

We gently remove the bag that was placed on top.

Note: the smile in the dough should be very similar to the one shown in the image, if you find it difficult to do it with your finger, you can use a container lid and place it on top, and voila.

Step 9.

We remove the excess dough, and this is how our empanada will be.

Step 10.

We take the empanada to a pan with enough oil, when it is previously heated, we introduce the empanada and we are waiting for it to brown, and so they do not burn.
