A Fascinating Rock For Boulder Sunday
Hi All! Today I'll be showing you a fascinating rock that I photographed at Loch Raven Reservoir in Baltimore County, Maryland. I found it fascinating and I hope you do too! I'll also be showing you just a few edits that I did on one of my photos. Don't worry though...I'll keep my edits to only three but one will be a collage as I try to spare you my whimsy just a little bit ... lol! 😉
The photo above shows the fascinating rock but let me start at the beginning because there is another rock that I want to show as well. Additionally, the only edits that I did on my photos are the obvious ones in the collage and the two gifs at the end of my post. So, the other photos are just how I photographed them.
This visit was on the day where the water was so calm with the most lovely color by the shoreline. If you saw my "Tranquility" post or Some Rocks Along The Loch post then they were also from the same visit! First let me show you the "other" rock that I mentioned as I feel like it begs attention and it is a cool looking rock that was sitting very near the fascinating rock. Here is a photo of the rock as I walked up to it and behind it is the one that I found fascinating.
The same rock but from another angle!
Pretty cool looking rock huh?! Now let's check out the other one and see if you can figure out why I found it fascinating!
Maybe now is a good time to "throw down" my collage of edits!
Okay, so besides it being a super cool looking rock, sitting in some pretty blue water and throwing an awesome reflection ... to me ... the one stone portion towards the back looks like a bird!
Come on! Please tell me you see it too! Even at a different angle it looks like a bird! I mean, not like a literal bird but a rock bird so to speak!
Oh well! Still looks like a rock bird to me! Here are two little kaleidoscope gifs that I made for your viewing pleasure as well and you really can't see the rock bird in them but they are pretty or I think they are. You're lucky too 'cause I did have three gifs but I did narrow it down to only two! 😁
All photos and text by me @deerjay!

Ohh yes such a beautiful area that you shared with us
Cool rocks Dee. 💞 I thought the first one resembled a shark and I definitely see the shape of a rock bird in the one you mentioned after I looked closer.😊
Have a great week my friend.🌷
Thank you very much Jo!! Ahhh...yes, I see a shark now too! 😉 💕
Wishing you a wonderful week as well! 💞

Thanks so much @kohsamui99!! Now that you say that...I see it too!! 😁 💕
Then we have the same imagination..hehe 😅
Please identify what kind of bird you are seeing! 😂😂😂An owl or a sparrow?
I see a cat sitting there! But whatever it is, it is a wicked cool rock!
Thanks Melinda!! I was thinking a Partridge..lol! 😁
It has been fun hearing what others are seeing too! 😉
A partridge.. OK. I can see that! 😀
I see a killer whale and a turtle with a dove sitting on her egg
tho I can't see the egg, she just has that look of sitting on one! :-)
Gorgeous boulders, rocks , stones and edits ❤ @deerjay!
Fifth and sixth photos the boulder looks like it has a squared
out area in the middle, as if something was on it long ago.
Like used for a foundation stone for a big square post.
Tenth photo I see 🐥 bird eyes!
You know I just love your rocky posts! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you @shasta!! Yes, it does appear as a bird sitting in a nest or on an egg. I can also see the whale. I saw that squared area in the rock as well and it just has an overall cool look to it. I love when I can get out and scarf up some interesting rock photos and show them off on Boulder Sunday! Thanks again @shasta and wishing you a most beautiful weekend! 💕
