Snowy Maple Buds

I took the following photos on February 11th. They are of the big Maple tree in my backyard.

They were taken just after a snowfall. This was more snow than we had in two and a half years and it was really pretty how it lay on the branches and buds that had come out on the Maple tree.

We were suppose to get five to eight inches of snow this past week but instead we got about two inches and a lot of ice. Not complaining though as what we got wasn't as bad as what some other places got. I didn't take any photos of that one since I didn't want to chance slipping on the ice.

It is suppose to get up to 50 degrees tomorrow so a lot of it should finish melting down. Wednesday is one of the main days that I go out since my husband is off from work that day. After tomorrow he has to work straight through for two weeks so I won't tax him with taking me out but I am hoping that we get to go out tomorrow.

I did get to visit the Conowingo recently and hope to get some of those photos up soon. I think they came out very nicely. I mean, there were no snowy maple buds but I did catch some other nice scenery even if I had to walk across some slippery ice to get them so make sure you check back for those photos that I risked going out on the ice for! 😉
Thanks!

Thank you very much @manorvillemike!! Every year those buds seem early but this year I'm not gonna worry about them. Sometimes it feels like time is standing still and other times it feels like its going too fast..lol. One thing is for sure and that is this world sure is feeling way too crazy lately..you know what I mean?! 😉

I'm getting snow fatigue over here. We get news that it will warmer then it just snows more and freezes solid the next day.

Thanks @sketch.and.jam!! I can't complain since we've been lucky for a while with just missing some of the weather systems. I bet it gets pretty darn cold there! Hope you get a break in the snow and ice soon! 🙂

Just yesterday it finally started getting warm again, and today it was warm again with half the snow melting. Soon I can start looking for morels again.

happy Tree Tuesday Dee.🙂🌲The trees look pretty with the snow. ❄️ We had snow laying heavy on the tree branches but the next day the sun came out warm enough to melt it.

Take care and don’t risk falling on the ice.

Thanks so much Jo!! I don't like the ice at all and it kept me inside for several days but I'm okay with that since it was quite cold anyway. I was worried about the snow that was on the little Japanese maple here but I think sometimes it helps to make them stronger. At least I hope that! 😉💕

Hi Dee. 💕 It’s easy to have a slip and fall this time of year when it’s wet snow and then freezes.

I hope your Japanese maple will be okay in this snow and cold. As you mentioned, it will make them stronger. The snow doesn’t bother the trees here and will melt off them once the sun shines.☀️
