Why did love get to escape the breakdown in life? It seems that love grows to a certain deep sweetness as it moves toward old age...Passion stays put, but it falls from grace as the hallmark of our love. This is adapted by time into something very serene, almost delicate…something else… It is deeper and oh-so-much better. Can it be that only now I have begun to recognize the fragility of life and living?
It is so profound - this new feeling. I walk through my garden of life and note how these delicate little flowers have withstood the harshness of the chilly nights, the whistling winds, and the hottest of days… and yet; here they are; simply divine and ready to live their life to the fullest.
The life of the regal Magnolia is so fleeting. Their beauty whispers, in my world, even as they fade, wither and as a final point, fall back to the earth.
Where cloud and angels live, they gathered one by one, flying high, high in the sky. So, if I may, on this supremely beautiful day, thank the sun for shining down on this dreamer.
In History today: I looked up in the sky and there it was. The end of an era...The object is actually larger than appears. Discovery made its final flight. The first of NASA's retired space shuttle was flown from Cape Canaveral, Florida to its retirement home on April 17, 2013. It flew over the nation's capital, where I snapped this shot and is now on permanent display at the Smithsonian. I got to see it go on one of its last missions from Cape Canaveral. Sad that our Astronauts have to hitch a ride for space. Where did our sense of exploration and adventure go?
All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.
It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.

Hello dear, I am always around. Doing my best, here everything is a little crazy. One week we are in radical quarantine and the other week it is flexible. Still, I hardly leave the house, I'm trying to work as much as possible here at Hive. How have you been?
Doing well. Working, but, never stopped. The world is crazy for sure! We have never been fully opened up yet and I am wondering if we will ever get back to normal.

I try to do the best I can here at Hive, it is unbelievable how being here changed my life and helps me so much in my day to day to generate money and to be able to support my mother.

Cultural beliefs also shape how we feel about being older. It changes as our population changes. I think the Nordic countries do the most to keep their aging populations engaged and part of society.

Speaking of Discovery, I started watching Star Trek Discovery many months ago but stopped and side track. I think stopped at Ep 7 of Season 1 and it's now Season 3.
I think you better get right on that, @ace108 !! :)) I found that I watch very little television/Netflix since the pandemic, which is surprising as there was more indoor time.
I have no reason for it and I never watched much, but, now, it has all but disappeared. Does your wife life to watch it? If not, that makes a big difference!

Thank you so much, Jo. I think we have to appreciate beauty. otherwise, what does that leave us? Old and cranky? :)) Society has put such a negative spin on getting older, sometimes. Societies that revere their aging population keep them productive and engaging. I can remember my great grandparents and the respect they were given everywhere they went.
The shuttle flew right over my head and it was such an amazing sight. I only got one good shot of it. Now, it sits in the Smithsonian where I can visit it. :))

I hope all is moving along for her, I know she is working hard, but, also, I hope the journey is so arduous that she loses sight of the mission. I cannot imagine having the strength to keep pushing.

Sometimes it is the small things that count. Buy a chain or use one she has to put her real ring around her neck if that is possible. It might actually irritate or get in the way of something, but, if not, it will be a gentle reminder.

I love life and living and my age has never bothered me. That doesn't mean I am not totally aware that my body is faltering with age and bad habits. My spirit is fine though and my exploration is more mental than physical now. I've never lost my curiosity and I keep wanting to know more.... well.... more good stuff. The bad stuff I could live happily with not knowing more about... know what I mean??

I agree. Age has only ever been a number to me. I forget my age some days but, that is only because many of my physical habits haven't changed much over the years. I still walk as many miles and more as I ever did, but, of course, that is a habit, and maybe I crawl it and am not aware! :))
Curiosity is another thing. I think I am more curious now than I was when I was younger, but, that is probably due to the more knowledge I have to be curious about.
