A Walk in Bole Hill Woods, Derbyshire

avatar

After a change of arrangements that left me not having anything to do, I decided to take myself off to have a walk in Bole Hill Wood on the outskirts of my village.

It was very windy in the wood. It can get a bit scary as twigs and branches fall to the ground. I'm not the luckiest of people! I had visions of something dropping on my head. Autumn is definitely around the corner.

I'm not very familiar with fungi, I only know these as puff balls. Saw a lot of them about alongside horse chestnuts.

This fungi looks like Hen of the Woods that grows on the base of trees. Again, I'm not so sure. Maybe, I ought to get round to downloading that fungi app! What I do know is, people love to leave their litter about! I will take a bag next time and clean it up.

The wind was getting up even more, so I decided to exit the wood and back into lovely blue sky.

Love those trees! I can imagine how eerie they may look at twilight... :) Pity about the litter...

I wouldn't want to go in there at night. Although, if I had someone with me that would be good. Maybe on halloween. 🎃 🙂
