RE: Greenhouse Goodies In August

The small, bushy tomatoes and the ones that randomly sprout on their own are usually the most productive - same experience on my side. xD

The spongy cucumber sounds really intriguing, but I barely managed to fit a regular one and the Miss was not too convinced...

One melon pear I overwintered is growing giant fruits and the other one is not even flowering, yet. Guess it really depends on how and when you cut them. Would share some if it wasn't for the logistics.

The melon pears have always been a success, but it looks like it will be different this year. Most flowers fell off. 😢
Next year I'll need to make sure I can bring the plant outside when temperatures are too high...

When kept inside you should also make sure to give the flowering plant a good shake everyday in order to stir up enough pollen. I even had issues with my outdoor hydroponic eggplant not developing fruit because the bees didn't find it.
I also keep some peppers inside to make sure they don't breed with other varieties, and they keep dropping all their flowers, too.
