Recently I was curious to know if our small community and its cryptocurrency are attached in what I consider the most important site in the world if you want to become relevant and have people and potential investors take the project seriously. I'm talking about Wikipedia and I was surprised to see that there hasn't been a single attempt to bring this project to the encyclopedia, at least in English. I thought it was strange that the most relevant authors in the community did not have a first article in the list to make an informative and put Hive on the map of cryptocurrencies so I thought to make this post.

For my part, a few months ago I embarked on a project in extreme similarity to the Wikipedia article of Hive but in the Spanish language, that post had good repercussions for the community with much work over several weeks to present the features and all the functions of Hive in a clear way for anyone to come out of doubts. I started this project some time ago with the support of several users of the community and I think it's time to start again to write and place an article worthy of Hive in the English Wikipedia.

Just one problem:

My native language is not English (it's Spanish) and the conditions to contribute in Wikipedia don't allow a user who doesn't speak English in a native way to write a well written article with all the linguistic guidelines he needs. So I came with another idea which I can support directly and I can advise with the knowledge I have regarding to create articles in the encyclopedia.

So my idea is as follows: organize a group of english speaking users, coordinate in a Discord server and start writing (or translating the article in spanish) so that the HIVE cryptomoney has its own Wikipedia page where users can discover in an easy, reliable and specific way everything that is Hive (and also what it is not), besides encouraging other users to collaborate by integrating their projects to the article following the parameters for the realization of articles on the page.

How it benefits HIVE

I think this section is a little too much, but to clarify that Wikipedia is perhaps the largest center of human knowledge in the world is very important. All worthwhile projects as well as all the supported cryptocurrencies have their article here and I think that HIVE already has a reputation as well as a community that supports its existence, we have the opportunity to expand HIVE to the public that each community leader is trying to reach as well as a key article to explain the characteristics of the currency. The wikipedia site receives 5.5 million ussers per day so an article about HIVE can benefit the community in the long run.

What information will the article have?

Basically an explanation of how the Hive Blockchain works, its history, its financial ecosystem a bit of how its community operates and the projects that Hive has. The important thing is to give precise information about the characteristics of the cryptocurrency.

How to participate

If you are a native English speaking user, you have good writing skills and I invite you to be part of our discord server dedicated to write and publish the article as well as make corrections and update it. The ideal is to have an extra form of contact (Whatsapp, Facebook) to be always in touch and we can make the article with the guidelines of Wikipedia as well as the most informative as possible.

the rules of the server are simple:

• There's a channel where you can find some resources like templates for Wikipedia articles as well as the original Spanish article writing to translate it. The idea is that users who want to collaborate download the file and translate it into English keeping the linguistic order as polished as possible.

• Another channel for contributions from members, these should be done by attaching a document with the statement of the subject that is treating the document or if they are translating part of the text of the original writing in Spanish.

Every week I will be updating the project little by little and I will share the profits of those posts with the collaborators. Making a wikipedia article requires time and effort between editors, writers and wikipedia users checking all the guidelines of the article so it's a project that requires patience and above all collaborators so if you have time and you have a fluent or native English I'll be waiting for you on the Discord server!
