ARISS Certificate, First freeze dryer batch of 2021 - Friday
I am super stoked to have gotten the email with the award after successfully decoding the images that were being transmitted by the space station. While not perfect I still have the audio files of every image which then gets decoded with different programs. Below is one of the 12 images.
Really happy with how everything came out and the spaghetti is amazing. I broke it up into chunks and filled one of the mylar bags and sealed it up. The rest got split between a couple sandwich bags for lunch one day. The swirl pasta is just plain but it separated out nicely and filled a gallon ziplock.
The avocado does really well in the freeze dryer and I am wanting to try rehydrating some and making a little guac to see. The chicken pieces was about a half a chicken from dinner one night as well as the rice. I have 2 rices dried, white and tri blend, and then millet. I have to order mylar bags so I can start making up the various meals.
The mixed berries are awesome and it is great to have them shelf stable and not taking up room in the freezer. There are a bunch of things I want to try, like kiwi slices and all the different fruits once they are in season.
Some of the day was spent trying to organize the pantry before getting a fire going in the pit for the evening.
This morning I went and got a couple barrels of grain and managed to not get stuck in the snow in the yard once I got it home. It's warm and raining off and on and the snow is melting fast. The next few days should see the creek getting nice and full.

Just so impressed with how well it works and the variety you've tried in it.
