What is Cryptobrewmaster?

Cyptobrewmaster is a fun new game on the Hive platform. The goal of the game is to collect ingredients and brew beers. These beers can then be sold for the in-game cryptocurrency CBM. If you gather enough CBM you can exchange it for Hive or another cryptocurrency.
The game is really simple and doesn’t consume a lot of time. It’s just a matter of starting tasks and waiting for them to finish. It’s an easy way of gaining some extra Hive to power up your account.

Evaluation

I’ve been playing the game for a few weeks now and really like it. It’s really simple and I already managed to gather over 600 CMB. I’m approaching my first payout (which is at 1000 CBM).
Since I know the game a little bit better now I decided to take a closer look at my tactics to see if I could improve something.

First you have to understand the basics of the game. You need to gather all the necessary ingredients before you can start brewing a beer. These are: water, yeast, wheat and hops (aroma and bittering).
The easiest way to gather ingredients is by completing the daily quests. There are two types of ingredients; normal (neutral) and good. By using more higher level ingredients you increase the chance of brewing a good beer. Good beer sells at a higher price than normal beer.
So what I was doing is putting as many good ingredients in beer as possible.

Bad tactics

Recently I took a little closer look at the numbers. I compared the prices of the normal and good beer. A good beer sells for 31,96 CBM and a normal beer for 29,05 CBM. That’s a difference of 2,91 CBM.

There is also a difference between the daily quests to claim neutral and good ingredients.
Claiming good ingredients takes way less time than claiming neutral ingredients but this comes with a price. Good ingredients cost between 1.5 and 11.5 CMB. And since you need five ingredients for one beer using five claimed good ingredients is a very bad investment. You will pay 39,5 CBM and receive 31,96 CBM for the beer.

Change of plans

I stopped adding multiple good ingredients in a beer since this discovery. You can’t brew a beer by claiming the daily neutral cards because you only get four. So I decided to keep claiming the good cards as well and add only one in each beer. This way I earn a bit less, but am I still able to produce at least one beer a day.
I’ll save the remaining cards for the marketplace which will be released shortly. I don’t know the exact ins and outs of this new feature, but we will probably be able to sell cards to other players.

But wow to brew better beers then?

There are other ways to receive ingredient cards than with the daily quests. Since last week there are events with which you can win cards. The creators of the game sometimes donate cards. Last week they donated cards because the game had 1000 concurrent players.
