[ENG][ESP] How to keep your guitar clean // Como mantener limpia tu guitarra

     Hello to all the community of Gems, a few days ago I decided to clean my guitar a little, since it has been a long time since I did not do a good maintenance and was very dirty, and I want to take the opportunity to share the process with you.

     Hola a toda la comunidad de Gems, hace unos días me decidí a limpiar un poco me guitarra, ya que desde hace tiempo que no le hacía un buen mantenimiento y estaba muy sucia, y quiero aprovechar la ocasión para compartir el proceso con ustedes.

     To do this we will need a dry cloth, some swabs to clean in the most difficult places and any type of polisher or wood cleaner as seen in the picture.

     Para ello vamos a necesitar un trapo seco, algunos hisopos para limpiar en los lugares más difíciles y cualquier tipo de pulidor o limpiador de madera como el que se ve en la imagen.

     The first thing is to clean the strings, simply by wiping dry around each one, moving along the entire length of the string, from the bridge to the pegbox.

     Lo primero es limpiar las cuerdas, simplemente pasando el trapo seco alrededor de cada una, desplazándose por todo lo largo de la cuerda, desde el puente hasta el clavijero.

     Then we will continue cleaning well the body of the guitar, for that we must apply a little bit of the wood cleaner on its surface and rub it with the dry cloth, doing a little bit of force, so that the dirt comes off and it polishes a little bit at the same time.

     Luego seguiremos limpiando bien el cuerpo de la guitarra, para ello debemos aplicar un poco del limpiador de madera sobre su superficie y frotar con el paño seco, haciendo un poco de fuerza, para que la suciedad se desprenda y se pula un poco al mismo tiempo.

     We must do this same procedure behind the fretboard of the guitar, being very careful that the liquid from the cleaner does not fall on the strings, since this could oxidize them or damage them in the worst case.

     Debemos hacer este mismo procedimiento detrás del diapasón de la guitarra, teniendo mucho cuidado de que no le caiga el líquido del limpiador a las cuerdas, ya que este podría oxidarlas o dañarlas en el peor de los casos.

     In the same way we continue with the pegbox following the same procedure, this is a small area, but like many difficult to clean areas, we will use the swabs to make it as clean as possible.

     De la misma forma continuamos con el clavijero siguiendo el mismo procedimiento, esta es una zona pequeña, pero como muchas zonas difíciles de limpiar, para ello utilizaremos los hisopos para que quede lo más limpia posible.

     Finally, comes perhaps the most tedious procedure, cleaning the dishes one by one. To do this we will use the dry cloth rubbing on them with vertical movements, we will start from the last frets and gradually go up to clean each one very well. In these accumulates all the dirt from our fingers, as well as dust from the environment or our own sweat, which makes this dirt stick quite, for them it is important to clean them regularly.

     Por último, viene quizá el procedimiento más tedioso, limpiar los trastes uno por uno. Para ello utilizaremos con el trapo seco frotando sobre ellos con movimientos verticales, comenzaremos desde los últimos trastes y poco a poco vamos subiendo hasta limpiar cada uno muy bien. En estos se acumula toda la suciedad de nuestros dedos, así como el polvo del medio ambiente o nuestro mismo sudor, el cual hace que esta mugre se pegue bastante, por ellos es importantes limpiarlos con regularidad.

     Once this is finished, we would already have our guitar clean, the best thing would be to make a change of strings to improve the result even more and thus make our guitar like new.

     Una vez terminado esto, ya tendríamos nuestro guitarra limpia, lo mejor sería realizar un cambio de cuerdas para mejorar aún más el resultado y así lograr que nuestra guitarra quede como nueva.
