How I made a low budget suade slippers using light grey leather for the straps.
Good morning everyone,
Happy Sallah to all our Muslim friends. This morning I want to share with us my low budget slippers. Its durable, strong and classy. The reason why I call it low budget is because the leather I used was the remaining part of the bag leather I used. The leather was quite small and I had to use a style that doesn't consume much leather so I came up with that design. I also used a little chain on the straps to give it more lovely look. So with little leather you can make this design. For the insole wrappings, I used a suade although after making the slippers I figured I should have used a black leather instead. Black leather would have given it a mote shiny look but the suade too is unique in its own way.
MATERIALS USED
- Suade material
- Leather of choice
- Maco 4
- Nora
- Tagging pin
- Chain (optional)
- Maco sole
PROCESS
- The first step was I marked 12 inches by 1inch on the leather 8 places but I later use 6 out of them 3 for each leg. After that I gummed them together as seen below.
- Next I cut the Maco and capped it with the suade.
- After that, I cut the Nora and filled the inside, I also filled the heel part and gummed the maco sole that I used for the heel with the Nora after which I filled the sides.
- Next, I fixed the chain to the strap. To make the design, I sew two straps together as seen below and I last the strap( through the process of marking the point, punching and fixing the strap inside the Suade maco with the help of the shoe last)
- Finally I gum the straps with the suade maco and I gummed the suade maco with the Nora.
FINAL LOOK.
