Commission #1 Illustrated a priestess kitten | Digital art

I am so excited about this new beginning here at Hive, it always amazes me how much this ecosystem evolves and adapts, without a doubt this is a strong community that does not let itself be defeated.

In other news, I tell you that I've been involved in a project for @smanuels, who has commissioned me to illustrate his characters following the characteristics provided by him, despite being his characters, I have permission to publish them to you and continue sharing my art in the community.

Today's character is a priestess named Raghanila, who lives in The Tempestuous Cliffs. I have illustrated her based on the following characteristics:

Physical appearance description: She is a cat with orange fur, her iris has such an intense red color. His sclera has been tattooed jet black.
Clothing description:
-Clothing head: It possesses a hood of red color.
-Torso clothing: She has a corset-shaped bib made of black metal, which tightens her red tunic.
-Dressing legs: Follow the tunic.
-Feet dress: Leather wizard's boots.
-Dressing arms and hands: The long sleeves of his red wizard's tunic. On her wrists she has the mark of the shackles that some years ago kept her imprisoned.

Tools:

  • Wacom Intuos 4
  • Photoshop

-Step 1:

For the first time in a long time I make a nice lineart, I always sketch and paint immediately, but as a practice and more professionalism, I have dedicated a little more time in polishing my strokes.

-Step 2:

Following the lines of the description, I have added the colors corresponding to each part of the character, also, I quickly sketched the cliffs of the background to avoid having a character floating in the nothing.

-Step 3:

Very nice the lineart, but I didn't want to keep it, so I reduced its opacity and started to detail over it, establishing shadows with darker tones, looking to generate volume.

-Step 4:

I have a great package of oil paint brushes, with them I was adding details to the rocks, giving them more texture and hardness, both to the cliff, as to the rock where the priestess sits, as an additional detail I blurred a little the background to focus the character.

I'll leave you a little gif with the whole process in it, so you can better appreciate the step by step.

See you in a future post!
