Take time to rest / Self-love

It had been tiring weeks for many of us here, Covid-19 cases increasing hence we have been in lockdown for weeks. Juggling between housechores and children's homework need some sort of skill and on top of that, I also need to level up to manage the little feelings of the children - either emotionally or mentally or both. It is not easy for them as well, they are meant to be out roaming around the parks, involve in sports or other physical activities, but they need to stay at home for weeks and doing online classes is not easy too.


Husband is great to notice I needed some time alone, to breathe slowly, to walk slowly, to think slowly. He said he could take care of the kids while I took my sweet time to run the errands as well as packing the food back. He said kitchen to be close today and I was not allowed to cook. I was like yippee yay! In fact, if I wanted to pack food every day, he is actually okay, but I am the one wanted to let the family have homecooked food as well, that way, I know what I put in, what oil I use, so on and so forth. But today, let it be Jade's kitchen is close. With no guilt. I need to love myself too.

I always love daisy and sunflower, they are very close to my heart, words can't explain. The moment I knew about daisy mask, I bought it for myself, not that it serves a better purpose, but I feel a sense of confidence wearing them. My kind of self-love is to buy something nice for myself, not the expensive stuff, but something beautiful like this. 😍

I took some time in the car also to listen to the radio. From Monday to Friday, there will be story series for 30 minutes. I enjoyed listening to story in the radio besides reading a book. Believe it or not, I have not been watching TV for years (except occasionally went out for movie with husband at cinema). It was nice to don't need to rush. After that, I spent some time reading some comics from Webtoon app. What a luxury when I could either read comic or book. After the story ended, I left the car and got to walk slowly also. Haha. Oh yes, usually, I am a fast walker. My husband reminded me to walk slower today and to take deeper breath too. Kind of like being nagged by him this way.

I went to a economy mixed rice shop to pack few dishes for home. And then, I went to bakery shop to buy some buns from uncle, talked to uncle a little bit. One hour had passed, and I started to miss the people at home. So fast, right?


Here was the food I packed.

Stir fry lettuce, fry chicken cubes in sweet sour sauce, tofu with minced meat. I love to pack dishes like these from the economy mixed rice shop because I would never cook three dishes on the same day. The preps and cleaning would take too long, considering I also need some time to homeschool the children. Packing outside enable us to eat food from different chef and I just needed to boil the rice. Self-love here. ❤️ Also, husband asked me to rest today.

Show you the buns I bought. There were the peanut flat biscuit buns. As well as cream cheese buns.

These were for the adults, I ate this right after my lunch, because I felt like drinking a cup of coffee and this sort of bun paired well with coffee. Husband even made me a cup of coffee. So sweet. 😍

The solitude one and half hour spent by myself was essential for my well-being. I felt I recollected myself and I was able to go all out again to love and to take care of the family. I really must remember myself to always take deep breath. Always pause and regain my thoughts, throw away the negative and enhance the positive.

I hope you remember to love yourself too the way that works best for you.
