Glad To Be Back - My Plans & Sharing Some Fruit Drawings

avatar

Hello everyone, it's good to be back. I have stayed active but have not posted in a while as I have been busy with university work. Now that I have time I plan on completing the book 'The Natural Way to Draw' this summer and will share summaries of my progress in drawings and paintings with you as I go along. I will also share drawings/paintings that I have done in the recent past that I think you will like as the book exercises can be a bit repetitive.

For now, I will share some gesture drawings I have done of fruits. As I have mentioned before the importance of drawing from life, drawings fruits from your kitchen is a perfect way to practice.

It is important to start the drawings with a few lines that make up the main form and then add further detail once these have been added. It makes your drawings overall more expressive. Although the drawings are 2d on paper, it makes sense that to make your drawings life like they should be drawn from life observations.

I have found drawing any object from life has helped improve my overall drawing skills over time and I have become more confident in expressive line making.
I used a ball point pen and charcoal pencil over large pieces of plain wall paper.

Thanks for checking out the post and I plan on sharing some interesting drawings in future!
