Quarantine Life: Day 101, Self-sufficiency Through Homesteading During Quarantine

One thing I realized during the times of pandemic is self-sufficiency. Our village was under lockdown for more than a month. We cannot go out of the village to buy our needs. It's been a hard time thinking of we can live without food and other necessities. At that time, government support didn't come yet. Gladly, my brother who's living from the neighboring village is buying for us, and just hand them over at the villag entry because he isn't allowed to get in too.

There's a moment when I ordered some fruits and vegetables from someone living in our village. I wonder how do they get them, but it's a big help that we have something to eat during lockdown. There I realized the importance of being self-sufficient through homesteading. Now, I started planting. Some of them are growing, while others aren't. That's part of planting, at least we started, so in times of need, we have something to eat.

Coronavirus cases

Several hours ago when the number of cases is at 9.1 million, but the tally now is at 9.184 million. That's less than 24 hours. Deaths has exceeded 474k, while recoveries is now at 4.604 million. United States gone up again, now at 2.391 million, and it included 122k fatalities and 739k patients recovered. Brazil is still struggling as day to day new cases is pretty high. Their current total is 1.151 million. Their recovery rate is high do with a total of 613k.

More than 1,000 new cases added in the Philippines' tally. Unsure if that's the record, but rarely reach that number with average of 500 per day during the last month. The current tally in the country is 31,825. Fatalities is slower though with 1,186. Recovered cases is also slow with total of 8,442. There are 4 new recoveries here in Pangasinan, however, there are 3 new cases so the current confined cases is 8.

Distractions during the crisis

Our country is facing a huge challenge due to the pandemic. All economies globally are affected, and of course, we are not spared. Combating the virus should be the major focus of the government. However, there are some people who create issues to distract government response against the virus. Instead of improving the situation, it gets worse. Thus, most people who doesn't care about such issues are affected.
