Almost 20 years ago when music landscape is changing again after bubblegum pop leading the music charts which may have started back in 1996-1997 era when Spice Girls and boybands became phenomenal, as well as the introduction of Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and their so-called clones a couple of years later.

That's the time when reality shows are becoming popular, yet MTV is still cool. 2001 came when Backstreet Boys vs NSYNC rivalry started to cool down when boyband popularity is on decline. These pop stars are getting more R&B sound, Destiny's Child became a trio, Alicia Keys came, the Mariah and J.Lo issues, Linkin Park started to become big sellers, even rock music becoming more popular again.

Eminem became a global superstar on "Marshall Mathers LP". Yeah, "Slim Shady LP" is huge but still not on a global level. He still made a mark, and became a bigger star in 2002 with "The Eminem Show" despite many people getting disgruntled over his video "Cleaning Out My Closet" with his shovel, which has its implications towards his mom. That same year, he became a box office actor on 8 Mile.

Who also forgot about women wearing neckties ala Avril Lavigne? Those era is just something to look back on. I kinda feel Anne Marie while listening to her song "2002". It's a real nostalgia.
