How to Make Potato Donuts with Various Toppings

Now we can make our own donuts at home with very cheap ingredients. I will make exactly the same as the donuts sold at the mall with the Jco brand. Want to know how to make these donuts recipe? The ingredients you have to prepare look quite a lot, but what fills the table are some toppings that we will put on the donuts. The first thing you have to prepare is yeast flour, wheat flour with high protein, margarine, UHT milk, potatoes according to the number of donuts you want to make and the last 2 eggs. Next, what toppings will I use? First, Oreos, cocoa powder, chocolate tiramisu, matcha, taro, almonds and choco chips.

The first thing you have to do is peel all the potatoes that you have prepared, then boil the potatoes until they are completely cooked and soft, about 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, you can pierce the potatoes with a fork to see if they are tender or not.

After the potatoes have been boiled and are soft, now mash the potatoes using a fork or tablespoon. This process takes a little effort, because you have to mash the potatoes until they are really smooth and there are no more hard potatoes. Now we will start to make the donut dough.

The first thing you have to do is put 250 grams of flour with high protein or the equivalent of 17.5 tablespoons, then 40 grams of sugar or the equivalent of 3.5 tablespoons, then put 1.5 tablespoons of instant yeast. Then stir until evenly distributed for a few minutes, then put 2 egg yolks into the mixture that has been stirred, after that put the potatoes that you have previously mashed. Then stir the dough again continuously.

While you are stirring continuously, gradually pour in the UHT milk and don't put the milk all at once into the mixture. Do it like that until the UHT milk runs out and stir the dough continuously until it is evenly distributed.

Next, after you have stirred for a few minutes and put all the milk gradually, then put 2 tablespoons of margarine into the dough, then stir again until the dough is completely mixed evenly and soft. If you have trouble mixing with a spoon, you can use a mixer if you have one, but if you don't have a mixer, you should wash your hands first before mixing by hand.

Well, the donut dough is ready and my hands are really very tired from continuously stirring the dough until there is no dough left in that place. You can see the photo above, the dough is absolutely perfect and ready to move on to the next stage.

Well, if you don't have a place to put the donut dough, you can use newspaper or parchment paper like I did, don't forget to sprinkle flour so that the dough doesn't stick to the newspaper or parchment paper.

After that, put the dough on the newspaper or parchment paper and cut the dough as you wish, I suggest cutting the dough not too big, adjust to the taste you want. After you finish cutting the dough to your liking, let the dough rest for about 20 minutes and cover it with a clean cloth.

After you have waited for 20 minutes, the donuts will expand a little more than before, now poke a hole in the middle using the circular funnel you have, you can make like me, there are some that I didn't pierce and some that I did. After that, cover it again with a cloth and let it rest for another 20 minutes so that the dough really rises perfectly. What do you think ? Making donuts requires a long waiting process, because otherwise the donuts will not expand perfectly.

Now, it's time for us to fry all the donuts that we have let stand for 40 minutes, put enough cooking oil into the frying pan, fry until the color turns brown, then turn and fry evenly until they are really brown in color, don't fry the donuts for too long, because donuts will break and become soft.

Well, the part that I think is very fun and interesting is mixing some toppings on the donuts. For the first topping, use chocolate first, you can use tiramisu, matcha and taro chocolate, after that you can mix the second topping with choco chips, almonds, nuts and other toppings.
