I know the title sounds a little weird, but those were the first words that came to my mind when the morning sun illuminated the peninsula Maria Wörth.

2021, Easter Monday morning
I made a little trip around the Lake Wörthersee before my family would awake. It was cold and there was no cloud in the sky. So the sunrise was more a subtle colorized sky and at least from my viewpoint not really interesting.
I have taken only two in my eyes usable photos this morning: one is the panorama image below, the other one is more abstract and wouldn't suit here. I will post it on another day.

Actually, I wanted to take a photo of the tower on the Pyramidenkogel which is more to the left outside the photo, but the sun didn't illuminate the tower as expected and as said above, the sky wasn't interesting at all.
So I decided to take a few photos for a panorama image through the branches of a tree where the church complex on the peninsula Maria Wörth would be the main motif. I have been lucky, because the sun began to slightly illuminate the peninsula and the church right at the moment when I arrived.

After the 3 photos for the panorama, which I have taken without a tripod, I took a couple more shots of the church and on my further way around the lake I have only taken the in the beginning mentioned abstract image.
When I came home a little later, all was quiet and everybody was still in bed. Also the kittens opened just one eye and fell asleep again. Maybe I shouldn't have fed them before I left ;)

Two weeks later ...
This morning I have been at the lake Wörthersee again, and this time the sky was very different. At first I went to my favorite sunrise spot. It was cloudy, but the cloud cover has been too dense and too low, so a nice shot of the sunrise wasn't possible again because the clouds blocked the sun and most sunlight.
So I moved to the place where I have been two weeks ago and took more shots of the church in the west.is one of the photos from this morning. You can see the peninsula and behind it the still snowy Gerlitzen Alpe mountain, which is a well known ski area in the mid of Carinthia north of the lake Ossiach.

It was cold and it seems that Spring doesn't want to come here this year. A few days ago it has even been snowing in the valley and the weather forecast shows low temperatures and rain, rain, rain for the next days, but maybe they are wrong as they are wrong most times 🤣

All photos were taken with the Canon EOS R and the Sigma 100-400mm F5-6,3 DG OS HSM C lens.

Your post title is almost prohetic Hannes, as the church certainly needs lightening up.

That is a gothic pilgrimage church and some great history lies behind that church. Did you know that it was a mission center at some stage.

Beautiful photos as usual and certainly a lovely post.

These were the first words that came into my mind and when I thought about them later I thought about the same as you said.
I have read the infos about the church, but you know I'm not a historic person and so I have already forgotten what I have read ;) It is a popular church for weddings though.

I hope the weather man is wrong, but it already looks rainy outside ... we'll see.

I like the name Austrian mountain goat more than Prophet Hannes, so I think that I will stick to it.
In all seriousness though, sometimes the Spirit leads us to state the truth, as nowadays the church has become like the world. So it desperately needs enlightening.

Ah, that forgetfulness is also becoming a big pain for me. A guy introduces himself to me and halfway through the conversation I call him by another name 🤣

I also hope that the weather man was wrong for your sake.

Yep, I prefer the Mountain Goat too 😁

And I do agree, the church acts just like any other big company.

Oh I know that too and many times I just add the person to my phone contacts or write his data down on paper and ask him or her "how do you spell your name?" 🤣

At the moment it looks like the weatherman was completely right, but the forecast for tomorrow has changed from rain to cloudy, so let's hope :)

Oh yeah, it is a great monniker.

Only worried abour the pastor's salaries and it is no longer a calling, but rather a job methinks.
Now that's a great way to get a person's name when you have forgotten it.
So he says"Hello Hannes" and you say "Hello, how do I spell your name"?
Then he says, "No, my name is not how do you spell your name. my name is Garth"
Just doesn't sound quite right to me 🤣

I go this way. "Hello Lucy" and she says "No, my name is Linda" so I say, "oh sorry you just reminded me of a beautiful woman that I know" They seem to like that 😉

So no, I don't think that I will greet persons with "Hello, how do I spell your name"
The person will say "Ono". Great I would say "Ono" the same same as John Lennon's wife?
Then they would say, "Oh no, I want nothing to do with you" 🤣

Right, we will hope as tomorrow is another day 😉

Your thoughts on this issue is correct, as nowadays the church have climbed onto the profit bandwagon. It hurts my heart.

I do sincerely apologise, as to forget someone's name is a capital offence.
So, I feel very sad as you can see in my writings in this reply.
Maybe we can find the answer to your problem of names amnesia. We can make a badge that you can wear on your jackets.
"Hello, I am Hannes, note that I am senile" 🤣🤣🤣

Seriously though, I call guys "Hello Chief" and girls "Hello Doll" problem solved. Old girls I call "Hello Dear" 🤣

No, I was only joking as you know and it seems that namec forgetting issue will always be a problem for us.
Unless someone can make a facial recognition app that can wisper a person's name into our ear every time that they come to greet us. That would be such a pleasure.

Forever my friend, forever it seems.
I am thinking about carrying around a young crow trained to remember names on my shoulder.

I don't know much about the Google glass story? Was it an intelligent set of spectables?
Maybe that a person could store data like names in?
Doesn't sound bad to me.

The crow would be a great idea, as long as it remembers only the names and not the things you said about the person when you're alone 😂

Google Glass were glasses with Internet and heads up display and a camera and so on, but I don't know what happened to it.

Oh man, yes that could be a real problem. "Her name is Martha, the fat lady that you were talking about" wouldn't sound very nice as Martha steps up to greet me.
I am sure that you can think of much worse, so maybe I should teach the crow to whisper 🤣

Yes, I have also faintly seen something, somewhere about Google Glasses, but you are right, as they seem to have been wiped off the blackboard.

Beautiful photos @johannpiber , the church is glowing in the light from the rising sun.
Mountain on the photo from two weeks later, with the top in clouds, remains me of volcano somewhere in Japan.

I am happy to hear that both of your kittens 😸 are doing well. I think that they already around one year old.

These are truly beautiful shots of the church being enlightened Hannes. Nice play on the word.

Besides the church standing out, the water in front and mountains in the background makes an ideal setting.

Sounds like your kittens are being cats and getting lots of sleep.😸

That place is just aside the road, but one of the few places around the lake where you can get to the water easily.

Yep, I also think the kittens can be called cats now 😺 The fights of the boys take the whole apartment and what's in the way will fall 😂

Just love the second photo where the church is basked with the sunlight and the snow capped mountain looming over it. This place doesn't seem too far away from your home as you were able to leave and return all the while the whole family was asleep.

Yes, the lake is about 10 minutes driving away and to that place it's about 15 minutes more. So I could get there quickly at almost any time 😉 ... and I have tons of images from there.

Haha, I drove in my car around the lake because it was very cold and it's an about 50 km walk - much to much for me 😁
But it was nice anyway, especially in the warm car 😉

In Summer we have often been riding on our bicycles around the lake - a beautiful ride.

The cats are now about one year old and sleep most of the day, just like old cats 😺

Here we have mixed weather sunshine and rain, but it's still cold. Some trees are already blooming - Spring will soon be here 😃

Brrr, it's still cold and rainy outside. I wanted to visit another reservoir this morning, but this one was dry too and so I turned back home. It was starting to rain anyway. On my way home I took a few photos of trees on the other side of a river, but I don't know yet if they are any good.

Our days over this weekend have been pleasant, days under 30C with nights under 20C making for a wonderful change, hope your weather breaks soon to enjoy the outdoors!

Draining every reservoir must be something they do every few years to clear after large snow falls higher up to avoid flooding possibly? Otherwise looking for old mountain goats that stumbled and never found their way home ha ha...

Hope you not facing a tedious work week and have more time to explore soon.

These temperatures would be quite right for me :)

I know they drained the other reservoir because of the maintenance works, and it seems they are working on the dam wall of the second one where I have been today. Maybe I should have had a look at the webcam showing the dry lake clearly 🤣 lol
The three photos I took on my way home are not that bad and they show the fresh green of Springtime :)

Around this reservoir there's a large forest, but I haven't been in the mood for forest walks. Maybe I would have found a lost mountain goat somewhere in the woods 😂

This week is going to be a long one because I'll be working on Saturday till Sunday morning, but the more I have to do the faster the days will go ;)

Well hope you are busy to make time move quickly, nothing like sitting around twiddling your thumbs.

Walk in the woods sounds about time, soon flowers and mushrooms will appear everywhere if they haven't started already.

As I said weather is better, winter is paradise here...

Sadly I see the Table Mountain in Cape Town is suffering fires once again, hope they have managed to evacuate everyone, those winds down there are horrific taking a fire across this region at high speed. Will hear from Zac (AKA Stephen) @papilloncharity how the situation is soon hopefully.

Not enough pizza baked yet, will look into that soon. Try my luck with a little drop of

I have had such times too, but very, very seldom - there's always something to do.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to spring flowers and fresh green trees. I want to be more in the woods this year.

Winter is paradise for me too, but too long is too long, and our winter is a bit colder than yours which would be our summer 🤣

Oh, it burns again? I'm also sure Zac will tell us more about it. Hopefully it's not too bad.

Ha ha, when you reach the age you need to get a little fitter to be able to cope, walks we could run through a few years ago 😁

A lot has been lost in historical value, many animals suffering, no human loss of life so far as we have heard.

Cape wind has come up the coast, we have had heavy winds all day with a promise of rain tomorrow. Have a productive day as well.

Believe me or not, not so many years ago I used to run every day and I loved to run on the mountains, but these times are long gone and nowadays I am glad to walk a little bit faster than the others ;) lol ... and the lockdown thing didn't help my fitness neither.

No humans died, that's good, but animals and historic buildings, that's very bad too. Zac has told me that 3 guys are running around starting such fires and they have caught one of them - lock them in and don't let them out anymore!

We have sunshine and rain, but mostly it's rainy. It's not so cold anymore though.

I must admit your title was most inviting, so of course I had to go on and found your photos of the church looking magnificent in the light. I always think that it is all about synchronicity that the universe organises for us to be in the right spot at the right time, and you were on Easter Monday morning.

The church is magnificent with the gorgeous sunlight! Ah! You chose the right words for the title, I agree.

You did a good decision! Your panorama image through the branches of a tree looks as if a New Year card and the church looks as if it is in a fairytale. Great capture!

This seems to be a very popular spot for people living out that way have seen this church in a few posts and every time i see it, gives me that spiritual feeling hopefully one day i can visit this church in person also it really looks amazing in where it stands.
