Remember #YANGGANG? It may be that time again...

Andrew Yang is talking a lot about wanting a better alternative for social media, maybe we should give him one

Rewind the clock several months and go back to when the Democratic party was still trying to figure out who they wanted to run against Donald Trump.

There was a young(ish) guy from New York running on the grounds of Universal Basic Income as well as being one of the few endorsing bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

This was the perfect guy to get involved with HIVE (STEEM) and thus the #yanggang campaign was born in order to hopefully make him aware of our little community and the potential that it held.

Unfortunately it didn't catch on like we had hoped and Yang never really made his way to the platform or endorsed it.

Plus, he dropped out of the running shortly after the campaign was started, which didn't help things either.

However, we may have another shot with him...

Andrew Yang is in the news again, this time criticizing Facebook and centralized social media...

Check it out:

Mostly going off about how Facebook is one of the largest and most valuable companies on the planet and that it's mostly off of the backs of its users.

Users that have benefited very little financially in spite of all of this wealth created by the company.

For this reason, he is advocating for a new model, a better model.

A model that is more decentralized and gives back to its users instead of only takes from them.

I think he is talking about HIVE and doesn't even really know it yet.

Time for another #yanggang?

Which is where perhaps something like #yanggang might come in handy again, and it seems we already have users noticing that as well:

Getting someone of his status aware of HIVE (or on HIVE) and aware of it's potential would be a major boon for crypto and for the project.

Perhaps it's time for another #yanggang initiative indeed!

Stay informed my friends.

I'll tweet at him later. I do like the fact that he is bringing these issues into people's minds but I must say I was pissed with him when he dropped out and endorsed Biden. Politians gotta politic. Although I am not from the US I follow it with interest.

Yea, no one dare cross party lines these days, not surprised. On that note, it looks like Biden is leading significantly in the polls currently...
