@yourtop3
Your Top 3 Contest - Vote For Your Top 3 Lockdown Essentials!

This month's topic was: Top 3 Essentials During a Lockdown

My Nominations were:

  1. Food/water
  2. Cleaning Supplies
  3. Thermometer

Earlier this month, I participated in the monthly Top 3 Contest. This contest provides entrants an opportunity to name their top 3 of any given topic. For April, the subject was your top 3 essential items you would need during a lockdown due to the COVID-19 health crisis.

I didn't hesitate to participate this month because I wanted to inform everyone what I thought was essential. I live on the Gulf Coast of Texas. During the Hurricane season, we experience each year from June 1 through November 30 the potential for Category 1 - 5 hurricanes, devastating tornadoes, and massive flooding. I have lived through more than one of these events during my lifetime.

So I decided I'd definitely enter this month's contest to lend my knowledge of what I've accumulated over the years in dealing with these type of disasters.

What we're facing now with this health crisis is more deadlier than anything I've dealt with. Although I've not experienced the loss of income because I'm in retirement, I have family members and friends who are in this precarious situation. I'm happy to report that I've been able to not only assist them financially, but also impart my knowledge on preparedness I learned during other disasters.

If you haven't read my rationale for choosing my Top 3 essentials during a lock down, here's the link to my blog again:

My Top 3 MUST HAVE Lockdown Essentials

Each month after participating in the Top 3, all entrants' choices are placed in a dpoll so everyone can vote to choose their top choices in the category provided.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 3 CHOICES?

If you'd like to participate in the poll and register your choices, just visit::

dPoll here to vote.

I've already voted.
How about you?

Thanks for taking the time to participate. After voting on your choices, you can also visit the contest post and see other votes' choices. Some provide reasons why they voted a particular way. It's a good experience to engage with others on different topics.

@flaxz initiative @iamalivechallenge: (Official Stay at Home Order [day 17]; my April 30-Challenge is one more day closer to realizing I can actually omit an item from my daily routine I'd come to depend on that wasn't a necessity. I chose paper towels as my challenge. I'm glad I did. Enlightened me to what's important in my life. I'm feeling better this latter part of the month from my sinus infection; and blogging this day)

Thank you for mentioning the @yourtop3 contest dpoll here. I didn't realise you were on the east of Texas, I have friends up in Longview and have visited a couple of times but they talk about the hurricanes and I was around in May... some of the biggest storms I've ever seen, we get nothing like this in the UK!

Please look after yourselves, many threats going on at the moment!

Good luck with the contest and dpoll, think all of those items are essential that in the list to be honest!

Hi @nickyhavey. Thanks for stopping in and viewing my post. You're welcome on the dpoll. Yes, I'm in the lower Gulf Coast, near Galveston. So I'm more southeast. East Texas is our home. We've seen it all here. But perhaps the more debilitating is the massive flooding.

Still, I wouldn't live anywhere else. You learn to live with it the best you can. All the while learning. It totally amazes me because after all these years and numerous incidents, people still get caught unaware. They make decisions not in their best interest. This endangers first responders as well as everyone else around them.

I appreciate your support. Have a great day.

Yeah my friends took me down to Houston and the Space Centre back in 2015 so probably drove near where you are?

I'm sure it's a steep learning curve at the best of times living in extreme movements of heat and then the weather - take care of yourselves

Yes, it certainly does. That seems to be my M.O. Glad tidings always tip up on me. But when they arrive, much appreciated and thankful.

Awesome sauce, lol @traciyork. I hear @jongolson of CTP and CTPTalk in the background somewhere. I hadn't had a chance to look at the engagement league yet. I've been busy last week and weekend with granddaughter because she's out of school. Hadn't had a chance to really engage like I otherwise would have.

Thanks so much for the tip. 42nd place is not too bad considering my input. I'm just happy to be on the list with any contribution.

Now, if I can only get some traction on dPoll. I think I had some awesome sauce suggestions. We'll see if everyone who votes agree.

I appreciate you stopping by and viewing my content. You give awesome support as usual. Hve a great Monday and rest of your week.

Well done Chris, and interesting choices, the thermometer would be the less obvious one, and I am not sure the reason behind it, but maybe you can enlighten me, stay safe, awesome and alive.

Hi @flaxz. That's why I included the link to my original post and asked if anyone wanted to read my explanations for each choice in case they missed it.

Thanks for your support and encouragement. Please take a moment to vote for your choices.
