Cuando hablamos de un trabajo artístico, muchas personas creen que por hacer algo porque nos gusta o nos apasiona, no tiene valor alguno. El arte tiene valor, la mayor parte de nuestra habilidad ya sea para pintar, escribir, dibujar, cantar, tocar algún instrumento…tuvo un proceso, un proceso de aprendizaje, de enseñanzas, nadie nace con el talento, este se va formando con el tiempo, con los años. Para mí que soy artista, cuando alguien viene con la intención de querer un trabajo GRATIS, para mí es una falta de respeto, todo mi esfuerzo y el tiempo que pierdo haciendo algo gratis, prefiero invertirlo en algo que si me de ganancia, nuestro trabajo vale, por más que nos guste hacerlo, porque eso sí, no niego que no me guste pintar y crear, claro que me fascina, pero lo hago por mí y para mí; lo que más afecta es que la persona al pedir algo gratis lo ve como un trabajo insignificante por el simple hecho de nosotros “saber hacerlo”, pero no piensan cuanto nos tomó aprenderlo, ejercerlo como algo profesional y de calidad, ahí es cuando yo les pregunto, ¿si tan fácil te parece, por qué no hacerlo tú?. Es por ello que he decidido crear un cartel referente a esto, con una frase para dejar en claro este asunto “Tu trabajo vale por lo que sabes” aludiendo así que no debemos limitarnos a regalar nuestro esfuerzo y nuestros años de aprendizaje.

When we talk about an artistic work, many people believe that doing something because we like it or we are passionate about it, has no value. Art has value, most of our ability to paint, write, draw, sing, play an instrument ... had a process, a learning process, a teaching process, no one is born with talent, this is formed over time, over the years. For me as an artist, when someone comes with the intention of wanting a FREE job, for me it is a lack of respect, all my effort and the time I lose doing something for free, I prefer to invest it in something that gives me profit, our work is worth, no matter how much we like to do it, because yes, I do not deny that I do not like to paint and create, of course I love it, but I do it for me and for me; What affects the most is that the person asking for something for free sees it as an insignificant work for the simple fact that we "know how to do it", but they do not think how much it took us to learn it, to exercise it as something professional and of quality, that is when I ask them, if it seems so easy to you, why not do it yourself? . That is why I have decided to create a poster about this, with a phrase to make clear this issue "Your work is worth what you know" thus alluding that we should not limit ourselves to give away our effort and our years of learning.

Cuando pienso en todo los que nos toca pasar para aprender lo que sabemos, nuestra habilidad para crear, imagino a cada persona o artista como una caja dispensadora de saberes, todos y cada uno de nosotros tenemos un cerebro lleno de creatividad, simplemente debemos saber cómo ejecutarlo, si cada día nos tomamos un tiempo para nosotros mismos, aprenderemos más y más, ejerciendo así nuestro talento. El cerebro para mí es el punto focal en todo esto, es el que nos proporciona lo que sabemos, allí se guarda cada una de las cosas que aprendemos, así que lo quise representar como el “conocimiento”, mientras que la dispensadora y la moneda en la mano es una alusión al “toma y dame”, tú me das la moneda y yo mi conocimiento. Por ejemplo está la frase “cada cabeza es un mundo”, si cada cabeza es un mundo, cada cerebro es un continente, y como sabemos cada continente es diferente, con sus culturas únicas.

When I think of everything we have to go through to learn what we know, our ability to create, I imagine each person or artist as a dispenser box of knowledge, each and every one of us has a brain full of creativity, we just need to know how to execute it, if we take time for ourselves every day, we will learn more and more, thus exercising our talent. The brain for me is the focal point in all this, it is the one that provides us with what we know, there is where each of the things we learn is stored, so I wanted to represent it as the "knowledge", while the dispenser and the coin in the hand is an allusion to the "take and give me", you give me the coin and I give you my knowledge. For example there is the phrase "each head is a world", if each head is a world, each brain is a continent, and as we know each continent is different, with its unique cultures.

Junté estos dos imágenes para así crear el trabajo final, decidí agrandar la mano con la moneda para dejar muy en claro la palabra “VALE” sobre ella.

I put these two images together to create the final work, I decided to enlarge the hand with the coin to make very clear the word "VALE" on it (voucher in Spanish).

Es importante tener siempre en mente que el hacer y el saber tiene su valor, no vale lo que haces, vale lo que sabes y el proceso por el que pasaste para poder hacerlo, no es justo decir “¿Cuesta tanto? Si para ti es fácil porque ya sabes hacerlo”, primero piensa si para ti sería fácil hacerlo, o ¿por qué no? Inténtalo y confirmas si lo es. Cada trabajo vale, sea o no sencillo de hacer.

It is important to always keep in mind that doing and knowing has its value, it is not worth what you do, it is worth what you know and the process you went through to be able to do it, it is not fair to say "Does it cost so much? If it is easy for you because you already know how to do it", first think if it would be easy for you to do it, or why not? Try it and confirm if it is. Every job is worth, whether it is easy to do or not.
