My experience drawing a semi-realistic eye for the first time on a graphic tablet (ESP/ENG)

El día de hoy les presento el primer dibujo que creo en una tableta gráfica, también les explicare como fue mi experiencia y lo que he aprendido.

Today I present you the first drawing I created on a graphic tablet, I will also explain how was my experience and what I have learned.
Para comenzar a crear el dibujo en digital, primero hice el boceto en tradicional.
Lo hice practicando también el sombreado y difuminado para crear un ojo realista.
Las herramientas que utilicé para crear el boceto fueron:
Lapiz 2B y 6B
Un pincel suave
Una hoja blanca
Borrador
Una impresora para escanear el dibujo.
To start creating the drawing in digital, I first made the sketch in traditional.
I did it also practicing shading and blurring to create a realistic eye.
The tools I used to create the sketch were:
2B and 6B pencil
A soft brush
A white sheet of paper
Draft
A printer to scan the drawing.
Luego de terminar de crear el boceto comencé a escanear el dibujo.
Al escanearlo abri el programa que uso para crear mis dibujos en digitales y fui creando el nuevo boceto en digital.
Es una experiencia totalmente nueva al empezar a trabajar con tableta gráfica, con la ayuda de los accesos rápidos de mi teclado más la tableta, puedo hacer las primeras partes de los dibujos mucho más rápido y con mejores detalles.
Es emocionante, la manera del trazado los pinceles, absolutamente todo.
Lo más curioso y para mí he impresionante es el afincado al dibujar, si solo lo paso sobre la tableta sin afincar, el trazo es suave, y si lo afinco es fuerte he incluso el tamaño del pincel varía según a cómo ejerza presión, pero claro sin exagerar porque también es muy delicado.
After I finished creating the sketch I started to scan the drawing.
After scanning it I opened the program I use to create my digital drawings and created the new digital sketch.
It is a totally new experience to start working with a graphic tablet, with the help of my keyboard shortcuts plus the tablet, I can do the first parts of the drawings much faster and with better details.
It's exciting, the way the brushes are drawn, absolutely everything.
The most curious and for me impressive is the sharpening when drawing, if I just pass it on the tablet without sharpening, the stroke is soft, and if I sharpen it is strong and even the size of the brush varies depending on how I sharpen it, but of course without exaggerating because it is also very delicate.
Al terminar la primera capa del dibujo, comencé a hacer la selección de la paleta de colores que voy a usar.
En este caso decidí hacer los ojos de color azul, son hermosos y sería un buen color para comenzar a crear el dibujo con una tableta gráfica.
Luego de darle la primera capa de color al ojos, mi siguiente paso fue dibujar la ceja.
En el programa tuve que hacer una selección de pinceles, el que más me gustó y es por su sencillez y lo suave que es fue el pincel acuarela.
After finishing the first layer of the drawing, I started to make the selection of the color palette that I am going to use.
In this case I decided to make the eyes blue, they are beautiful and it would be a good color to start creating the drawing with a graphic tablet.
After giving the first layer of color to the eyes, my next step was to draw the eyebrow.
In the program I had to make a selection of brushes, the one I liked the most because of its simplicity and softness was the watercolor brush.
Al terminar de dibujar la ceja, comencé a crear las pestañas, me divertí mucho en este paso ya que ahora es más cómodo.
Es como dibujar en tradicional, el programa nos da la sencillez de voltear el lienzo para darle más detalles a los dibujos y para tener más comodidad a la hora de dibujar como por ejemplo las pestañas.
Cuando creo dibujos en tradicional tiendo a mover mucho la hoja y moverla de posición para poder dibujar mejor.
Luego pinté el iris y la pupila, de azul oscuro y negro.
When I finished drawing the eyebrow, I started to create the eyelashes, I had a lot of fun in this step because now it is more comfortable.
It's like drawing in traditional, the program gives us the simplicity of flipping the canvas to give more details to the drawings and to have more comfort when drawing as for example the eyelashes.
When I create drawings in traditional I tend to move the sheet a lot and move it in position to be able to draw better.
Then I painted the iris and the pupil in dark blue and black.
Una vez terminado de colorear el ojo ahora mi siguiente paso es hacer la primera capa del sombreado.
Primero comencé a trabajar en el sombreado del iris.
Si buscamos una imagen por internet de un ojo o nos tomamos fotos, podremos observar que los ojos tienen como una especie de pequeñas líneas de color negro o el mismo color que tengamos los ojos pero más oscuros.
En este caso use el mismo color azul pero más oscuro.
Once I finished coloring the eye now my next step is to do the first layer of the shading.
First I started working on the shading of the iris.
If we look for an image of an eye on the internet or we take pictures of it, we can see that the eyes have some kind of small black lines or the same color that we have the eyes but darker.
In this case use the same blue color but darker.
A medida que iba dibujando más cosas se me ocurrían y más disfrutaba al dibujar.
Es muy cómodo dibujar con tableta gráfica y los dibujos te salen mucho mejor que cuando dibujas con un ratón.
Para mejorar el sombreado y la profundidad del ojo e tenido que mezclar algunos colores creando el morado para tener una armonía de colores entre la piel y la profundidad y sombra del ojo.
Creé una capa nueva y comencé a hacer pequeños trazos encima de todo el sombreado para darle ese efecto que tanto busco para darle profundidad y realismo a los dibujos.
The more I drew, the more things came to my mind and the more I enjoyed drawing.
It is very comfortable to draw with a graphic tablet and the drawings come out much better than when you draw with a mouse.
To improve the shading and the depth of the eye I had to mix some colors creating the purple to have a harmony of colors between the skin and the depth and shadow of the eye.
I created a new layer and started to make small strokes on top of all the shading to give that effect that I am looking for to give depth and realism to the drawings.
Y por último en el iris y la pupila, creé mas lineas de diferentes tonalidades del color azul para que resalte más y brillo para hacer que resalten más.
Al finalizar todo el dibujo con los colores y todas las líneas, comencé a difuminarlo completamente para darle más volumen y detalles.
Fue una experiencia impresionante para mí y me encantó cómo quedó el dibujo, a pesar de ser la primera vez que dibujo en tableta gráfica me a encantado, esta mucho mejor que cuando dibujaba con el ratón.
And finally on the iris and pupil, I created more lines of different shades of blue to make them stand out more and glitter to make them stand out more.
When I finished all the drawing with the colors and all the lines, I started to blur it completely to give it more volume and details.
It was an impressive experience for me and I loved how the drawing turned out, even though it was the first time I drew on a graphic tablet I loved it, it was much better than when I was drawing with the mouse.
