¿Para ti que es la moda? | What is fashion for you?

La moda para mí es arte, y como cualquier pieza de arte sólo podrá ser apreciada y comprendida por quienes sientan la obra. Debo ser sincera, cada vez que veo mucho de la moda de alta costura me siento fuera de órbita, no la comprendo, pero como dije antes, si no siento la obra, nunca la voy a poder comprender. La moda para mí es aquello que es más que una pieza, que es más que un color, que ha sido diseñado y pensado para que prevalezca durante años como un clásico vestido negro, o que este en el mercado durante el tiempo que yo como diseñador decido que se mantenga en el mercado, es esa escena de Maryl Street diciéndole a Anne Hateway que ese suéter azul no es azul y no es sólo una elección al azar.

Fashion to me is art, and like any piece of art it can only be appreciated and understood by those who feel the work. I must be honest, every time I see a lot of high fashion I feel out of orbit, I don't understand it, but as I said before, if I don't feel the work, I will never be able to understand it. Fashion to me is that which is more than a piece, which is more than a color, which has been designed and intended to prevail for years like a classic black dress, or to be on the market for as long as I as a designer decide to keep it on the market, it's that scene of Maryl Street telling Anne Hateway that that blue sweater is not blue and it's not just a random choice.

¿Crees que se trata solo de ropa y objetos o va más allá de ello? | Do you think it's just about clothes and objects or does it go beyond that?

Como todo hoy en día que ha avanzado ya las marcas no son lo que fueron en un inicio, ahora es una expriencia que te brinda cada una de ellas, asi que no, ya no es sólo ropa y objetos, es lo que transmiten, el mensaje con lo que te lo venden y el significado que le das a cada uno de ellos. Hace mucho que las cosas no son solo cosas, son sentimientos ocultos bajo cosas materiales.

As everything nowadays that has advanced, brands are not what they were in the beginning, now it is an experience that each one of them gives you, so no, it is no longer just clothes and objects, it is what they transmit, the message with which they sell you and the meaning you give to each one of them. It's been a long time since things are not just things, they are feelings hidden under material things.

¿La prenda más básica que tienes en tu clóset? | The most basic garment you have in your closet?

Pues como dije un poco más arriba, un vestido negro que solía ser mi mamá antes que se casara con mi papá y ahora pasó a ser mío, es un vestido de corte clásico, y sabemos que un vestido negro nunca pasa de moda.

¿Te atreves a combinar estampados? | Do you dare to combine prints?

¡Oh Dios! Aquí viene mi lado más cringe, me encanta ver como usan y mezclan figuras con lineas, cuadros con flores. Pero... yo no lo uso, por el simple hecho que mi ropa es muy funcional, aún no he podido -por razones económicas, no hay suficiente cash cash- explotar todas las cosas que me atrevería a probar, así que sí, combinaría muchas cosas siempr buscando un balance entre una y otra.

Oh my God! Here comes my cringe side, I love to see how they use and mix figures with lines, squares with flowers. But... I don't use it, for the simple fact that my clothes are very functional, I have not yet been able -for economic reasons, not enough cash - to exploit all the things I would dare to try, so yes, I would combine many things always looking for a balance between one and the other.

Como dije antes, no tengo nada fuera de lo común. Normalmente eso es lo más costoso en mi país y difícil de conseguir.

¿Qué es lo más común que te sucede cuando vas de compras? | What is the most common thing that happens to you when you go shopping?

Esto va a sonar quizás muy egocéntrico, pero lo más común es que nada me guste. Soy al extremo de quisquillosa con la ropa y si tienen una línea que no me gusta en la camiseta, simplemente ya no la compro. Lo otro que me sucede es que odio probarme ropa, me explico un poco más en este punto, y es que me gusta ver como me queda la ropa pero realmente me desespera tener que cambiarme tantas veces, también odio tener que vestirme en un espacio tan reducido, me sofoca.

This is going to sound perhaps very egocentric, but the most common thing is that I don't like anything. I'm extremely picky about clothes and if they have a line I don't like on the shirt, I just don't buy it anymore. The other thing that happens to me is that I hate trying on clothes, I explain myself a little more at this point, and it is that I like to see how the clothes fit me but I really despair of having to change so many times, I also hate having to get dressed in such a small space, it suffocates me.

Color favorito para vestir | Favorite color to wear

Lo clásico, me encantan los colores sobrios, gris, negro, vinotitnto y sobre todo los colores pasteles, pero desde hace unos meses me encanta el color rosa y el azul, lo que es muy irónico, mi color favorito es el color azul y no tengo ninguna prenda de ese color.

Yo era un poco hombre en este aspecto, para mi lo que siempre me ha encantado han sido los relojes, desde que estoy muy pequeña, pero de usar zarcillos, collares y entre otro tipo de accesorios me parecían totalmente innecesarios, hoy en día estoy obsesionada con los zarcillos, gargantillas, collares, anillos e incluso perforaciones he estado pensando realizarme. Como todo en la vida, somos seres cambiantes y nada nunca permanece como fue ayer, mi nuevo yo ama los accesorios y cree que son a veces más protagonistas que el resto del outfit.

I was a little man in this aspect, for me what I have always loved have been watches, since I'm very small, but from wearing tendrils, necklaces and among other type of accessories seemed totally unnecessary, today I am obsessed with tendrils, chokers, necklaces, rings and even piercings I've been thinking to realize myself. Like everything in life, we are changing beings and nothing ever remains as it was yesterday, my new me loves accessories and believes that they are sometimes more protagonists than the rest of the outfit.

¿Prenda más funcional de tu clóset? | Most functional item in your closet?

Una camisa negra que tengo con unas letras en blanco, tengo más de seis años con esa camisa y al día de hoy la sigo usando y es parte de mis outfits cotidianos.

A black shirt that I have with white letters, I have had that shirt for more than six years and to this day I still wear it and it is part of my daily outfits.

¿Que tanto te arriesgas en moda? | How much of a fashion risk do you take?

No tanto como me gustaría pero creo que poco a poco voy descubriendo más cosas con las que me gustaría jugar mucho más, así que puedo decir que un 4, porque no uso nada extravagante.

Not as much as I'd like but I think I'm slowly discovering more things that I'd like to play with a lot more, so I can say a 4, because I don't wear anything extravagant.
