Steam Train Returns + Other Trains

The surprise steam train of this morning was actually part of an event called Höyryjunalla Heinolaan. A historic steam train makes two round trips to the small town of Heinola about 25 to the north of Lahti on Saturday and one more on Sunday.

It rained heavily but I decided to go and take a few shots of the train near the same spot I took the morning shots today.

This one belongs to Fenniarail which is a private railway company involved in freight transport. Founded in 2009.

It's on its way to Helsinki according to a couple of other guys who were standing next to me shooting train videos. I left my tripod in the car because I was in a hurry. They had been shooting the steam train where it left about a kilometre from here near the ski stadium.

It rained heavily. The three of us were standing under a bridge.

The Z train from Helsinki is coming. It's a Helsinki local train.
