Four tiny head drawing with ball point pen

I see this two amazing ball point pen artist on hive, @maxwellmarcusart and @kayda-ventures
these people are so amazing at ballpoint art that their arts made me try to draw some with ball point pen.

I am not comfortable with this because when drawing i erase a lot, to get a good sketch but in this case i wouldn't have any control after i draw. So if i make a wrong line i will have to draw along with it.

So, instead of going big, i just sketched four tiny heads and put them inside boxes, i actually drew the boxes before to fit the heads in. Two in the left are drawn from nothing which is why they look worse, for the other two i used two of my friends' face.

I must say its a good piece being your first time using a ballpoint pen. Definitely, it looks difficult at first but with time, it flows well. For me, what helps me to flow well with mistakes is that, i have strong believe in every mistake to be a design. You can actually turn your mistakes into design in art. Most times that i choose to use pencil or even S-Pen, i avoid to use erasers because i strongly believe it helps in getting faster and accurate in drawing. You did really well with the sketches. ❤️

Yeah, it is hard but if you keep practicing, you with discovering your mistakes and adjusting them. At least I can see improvement when you compare this one with the one you earlier did.

The starting point is to avoid mistakes (though it is impossible) and to avoid mistakes, you have to be very careful and precise and to do that, you have to observe very.
Firstly, you have to make your ouline sketch. This ouline sketching will help you to know if you have gotten the resemblance - this will guide you and give you confidence to add shading which will give rise to forms.

Outline sketching has to do with getting the shape and curves of the model properly. Sonce you are using pen, you have to make those strokes very light that one can hardly notice there was strokes there after shading. Most mistakes are covered with shades after getting the right shape.

I will say learning to draw with pen/pencil has stages. Just keep practicing. You will get there.
