A Beautifully Sublime Sunday from the past.

There was a time when our retirement meant having the time to get in the car and go traveling around the country to see the things we wanted to see.
This particular road tip started when we drove from Wisconsin to North Carolina, stopping along the way to see anything that happened to catch our attention. Or rather my attention! Jim was one of those guys that had a hard time stopping the car for anything other than getting gas, but he was coerced into realizing that my way of traveling was much more fun!
We got on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Ashville, NC and traveled north, stopping frequently to take photos and tour parks and historic sites. While we were in Manassas we made the decision to get on the Metro and go and spend the day in Washington DC.
Without planning it, our timing was perfect and the cherry trees were in bloom!
The walk around the Tidal Basin took up most of the day and became a once in a lifetime experience for both of us.
A day of exquisite beauty!
Happy memories and I am so glad that I have HIVE as an excuse to go through old photos and relive the wonderful days of my life.

It certainly wasn't planned. We just stumbled onto it and didn't even know until we were on the train and then someone asked if we were going to see the cherry blossoms. We had planned on spending the day at the museums.

Yes it is. I only have a little when I put my cell phone in the window, hopefully soon I have Internet so I can spend more time here. I'm excited for how things are going to be here.

It couldn't have worked out better if we had planned it for months! Someone on the train asked if we were going in to see the cherry blossoms and that was the first I knew that the trees were in bloom!

This is something worth seeing. Last year cherry trees were planted not far from where I live and I was looking forward to seeing them blooming, but now with that bloody virus and restrictions not to go out I will miss them blooming.
We are all missing so much this year.

I have noticed the esteem wallet and ESTM points are not yet working on esteem wallet is that the same with you ??
It is my understanding that there should be a new esteemapp version today on Google Playstore. Lots of things to get sorted with this move.
Yes i agree lots to be sorted it is really still a mess out there . I just posted on @esteem and i thought it would automatically go to Hive but apparently it didn't so they haven't got that working either yet.
I think it is a Steemconnect issue and you need to be using hiveconnect now, but the easiest choice now is to wait for the new app.
I have some how manged to download the new version of esteem i when to https://esteem.app/about#downloads and downloaded it manually it seems to be working ok it , i just did a post and it even shows up on Hive so i did something right 😊
You ARE doing it right! I'm waiting on the new ESteem phone app and I'm still expecting lots of glitches as the moving parts all come back together.
Thanks yes i agree they still have a few glitches to over come but it's all starting to look good daily 👍

@ace108 In 1912, Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo gifted 3,000 cherry trees to my nation's capital. Over 100 years later, this act of kindness is still celebrated. Some of the original trees are still blooming!
That's a great live that will outlast many generations.

Blocktrades has an exchange set up. I traded a small amount of Steem for Hive tokens, but I believe you can trade for other coins, too. It was easy to trade for Hive. Just click on your liquid Steem and then choose market.
