Important use of Medicinal plant in our garden, with some tuber crops.

Hello Hiveians

Our garden is fruitful and full of life, check out the varieties of vegetables and even some tuber crops we decided to add.

You don't need to have big farming space in order to grow this much needed crops, when grandma brought the idea of planting water yams in sacks, it was my first time experience and I felt that the yams may not have the needed fertilizer or manure, but there is always the useful Chemical fertilizer and with little space and enough loamy soil in sacks the yams are doing just great.

The garden was solely meant for medicinal plant and vegetables for consumption but since we got some yam seedlings in the house we decided to make good use of them in a way that they won't disturb the vegetables, the sack was a great idea in the end.

Check out the other medicinal plants and vegetables in our garden.

We use Aloe-vera for heat burns and face cleanser. It works along side honey to clear the skin from burns

Grandma calls this Indian leaf and traditionally it works for body pains in a measured quantity.
7 pieces of the clean leaves for a female and 9pieces for male. That the traditional measure for taking this.

This we use for sour throat and mouth ulcers.
It is squeezed and extracted with water for drinking while the leaves is brushed against the lips tongue and mouth areas.

The lemon grass is added to other items like the palm tree pods which are cooked together for the treatment of typhoid fever.

This and many more medicinal leaves are been planted on various occasion as we realize their important use over time.

Thank you for taking out time to see our garden.

Love seeing a garden with herbs and plants I like to eat! I'm not sure about yams though, great to see you've found a way to grow them in a small area - that's super cool!

You garden is indeed full of life courtesy the rainy season. African nurtured plants are full of medicinal importance if you are ready to learn the ropes from your older parents.

The Indian leaf plant that you showed is most probably the holy basil or Tulsi that grows in India. It is very good for sore throat and used in Ayurveda also. Voted on behalf of the Neoxian city paper. Great garden and neatly maintained.

It is so important to have plants like this growing around our homes, no matter how small the space may be. We never know in these strange new times when we'll face shortages, lockdowns, and restrictions on movement, so it's very important to have the ability to make some natural medicine ourselves.
