Hive Creative Contest / Tristan, An Unexpected Visitor
From a distant planet, a being called Tristan observes millions of lights that are reflected on a planet called Earth, he has heard that strange underdeveloped creatures live there. The curiosity filled his being and like a magnet that draws him to that unknown planet, he decides to venture there.
Traveling in a wormhole, Tristan reaches the ground, the thick air overwhelmed him and he found it difficult to breathe. After adapting to this new atmosphere, he managed to recover and was amazed at what he saw, large trees stood before him and in the gloom of the night strange noises that for him were unknown could be heard, after all, on his planet what we call nature didn't exist.
Tristan began to walk in search of intelligent life, after going through that cold and dark forest in the distance he could see a bright light and as he approached, he was able to see a family that was talking around a campfire, they were camping. In order not to scare them, Tristan took on a human appearance and approached them greeting them in a friendly manner. They invited him to have dinner, which for him were strange things he had never eaten before. The family had two small children and Tristan was amazed at how the parents cared for and protected their offsprings and at that strange movement they made with their lips, which he later understood was called a kiss.
Tristan spent the night in the camp with the family and when he opened his eyes he was able to contemplate the majesty of the forest, the bright green of the leaves of the trees, the variety of colors of the flowers and the enormous number of small insects that flew around the forest, he was overwhelmed with so much beauty. His planet was dry and arid, nothing grew on earth and they had learned to feed on minerals.
They invited him to bathe in the river and Tristan was amazed when he saw the immense rocks in the water and the small fish that fluttered at his feet. Suddenly the sky began to cloud and small drops fell on his skin that became thousands, for him it was a sublime and wonderful spectacle. Nearby the children played and had fun in the river with their parents until they managed to catch several fish that they then cooked to eat.
The family told Tristan that they would be leaving before dark and spend the rest of the day exploring the forest and enjoying its beauty and the diversity of its fauna. When evening came they picked up the camp and said goodbye to their unexpected guest.
After Tristan was left alone, he decided to stay for several days in the forest exploring, meeting new species, marveling at that small planet called earth. At the moment of departure tears welled up in his eyes, he would never forget his days camping in that beautiful forest and while he was being sucked by the wormhole he thought: How lucky are humans to have such a beautiful planet!
