Grandma, Stories, and Happy Little Hearts

avatar

So yesterday, my mom visited me here in Lagos State from our hometown. It was a very hectic journey for her, let's say 14 hours on road transport.

However, my brother wanted to book a flight for her, but she declined out of fear. I personally tried to convince her that the mode of transport is the best for her to avoid the stress associated with a road journey, but she refused. Later on, she said if at all she will accept to use a flight, then one of my siblings must be by her side throughout the journey so she can have peace of mind flying in the air, lol.

That's by the way; she has been resting from the road stress of yesterday and from her reaction, she prefers that to flight, regardless. The most important thing to me is that she arrived safely.

Now, my kids, have been overly excited seeing their grandma since one year and five months ago, when they saw her last. They have been jumping all over her, hearing stories of the old from her, including Bible stories.

The part I loved most was when she started teaching them our native language, especially the deeper type of our language, lol. It's been fun at home, and for a moment, I forgot to blog on Hive since yesterday, but here I am, on a low key, anyways. 😍

This evening, my elder brother, who lives in Lagos State here as well, drove into my home and insisted he is going with Mum so she can visit his home too. However, my kids have been crying, searching for Grandma everywhere, lol; they started missing her stories already and getting along so far.

Interestingly, Grandma gave them a cash gift, and they rushed to put it in their piggy bank...lol. I may just go there and take the money for something better before they demand to use it for a lollipop because all their savings so far have been fake and a prank...They are yet to understand with intentionality the money management I have been teaching them, but hopefully they will get there soon.

It's going to be a day out with Grandma tomorrow, and it promises to be fun with her other grandchild here in Lagoas too. Hopefully I will share that here.

You are a photocopy of your mom 😊😍, thank God for her safe trip.

Kids, and spending their money on lollipops are like 5&6 lol, don't worry continue to teach them about savings with time they will understand.
