The Starless Night.

Like the description of the beginning in Genesis,
everywhere formless, void and without light,
silence ruled the ears and darkness governed the eyes,
and my thoughts wandered
as my heart alone couldn't accommodate them.

And I began to wonder,
" if all nights were like this,
will there be hope for tomorrow?
Will man wish to rise up to a new dawn?
Or the thought to just end will take over."
I had no answers to all this pondering.

As I drifted to sleep,
closing my eyes to the sad sky
and opening them to dreamland,
I knew not what transpired in the reality,
but what as I woke up,
I knew something had happened.

I saw light everywhere,
silence lost its government to
the sounds of devotions and movements,
the earth came alive not alone,
but with blessed hope and assurance.

Possibilities came with opportunities,
the sun smiled again
and the chance to live was increased.
Though the stress night was long,
the morning came early.
