Today I want to tell you a bit about the reality of the neighborhood in which I live, for which I will give you a brief introduction that perhaps I have already told you about at another time, but that I consider pertinent to do it again so that the reality of this terrible problem is understood.

Hoy quiero contarles un poco la realidad del barrio en el que vivo para lo cual les haré una breve introducción que quizás ya les he contado en otro momento, pero que considero pertinente hacerlo nuevamente para que se entienda la realidad de esta terrible problemática.

As I have already told you, 4 years ago they gave us our house in a neighborhood of social housing. These houses are built by the state, which grants them to the citizens who enroll in the plans according to the socio-economic level of the applicants. Many plans are completely free and are aimed at the lowest income levels and others like ours in which the value of the land is paid at the time of registration and the house is paid in comfortable installments, which are really very low. To give you an idea, the house fee currently does not reach $ 10.

Como ya les he contado, hace 4 años nos entregaron nuestra casa en un barrio de viviendas sociales. Estas viviendas son construídas por el estado quienes las otorga a los ciudadanos que se inscriben en los planes según el nivel socio-económico de los aspirantes. Muchos planes son totalmente gratuitos y está destinado a los niveles de más bajos recursos y otros como el nuestro en los cuales se paga al momento de la inscripción el valor del terreno y la casa se paga en cómodas cuotas, las cuales son realmente muy bajas. Para que se den una idea, actualmente la cuota de la casa no llega a los u$s 10.

And let me tell you one thing, this is done by both populist and capitalist governments.

Ahora como pasa en nuestro país, todo lo que hace el estado está manchado con grandes actos de corrupción y las viviendas que nacen en un principio con un fin social, terminan convirtiéndose en un medio por el cual los representantes del estado los utilizan para hacer sus negocios personales. Y déjenme decirles una cosa, esto lo hacen tanto los gobiernos populistas como los capitalistas.

Our neighborhood began to be built in 2007 and only in early 2016 were the first homes delivered, making the wait really eternal. The worst thing is that there are still around 30 unfinished houses which are in a complete state of neglect, which is a great shame.

Nuestro barrio comenzó a construirse en el año 2007 y recién a principios de 2016 se entregaron las primeras viviendas, haciéndose la espera realmente eterna. Lo peor es que aún quedan alrededor de 30 casas sin terminar las cuales se encuentran en completo estado de abandono, lo cual da una gran pena.

The sad thing is that in the midst of all this opportunism of those who hold the power on duty, there are many families with a real need to have their own house to stop paying rent and especially to achieve what is so difficult in this country, that It is the access to the own house.

Lo triste es que en medio de todo este oportunismo de quienes detentan el poder de turno, hay muchas familias con verdadera necesidad de contar con una casa propia para dejar de pagar alquiler y sobre todo para lograr eso que es tan difícil en este país, que es el acceso a la casa propia.

Someday we will understand that it is not about socialism, capitalism or any other "ism". It's just that in towns like Argentina and Venezuela `we know how to choose honest people with a true vocation for service and not with the desire to do private business taking advantage of the benefits and impunity that power gives them.

Algún día entenderemos que no se trata de socialismo, de capitalismo o de ningún otro "ismo". Solo se trata de que en pueblos como Argentina y Venezuela `sepamos elegir personas honestas y con verdadera vocación de servicio y no con ganas de hacer negocios particulares aprovechando los beneficios y la impunidad que les otorga el poder.
