The common understanding of opportunism is "it's connected to our negative moral." People consider it as unhealthy behavior, it's something like this a disorder or the person has some character deficiency. We consider it as a negative thing. I would like to say that in many cases, it can be true because it depends on what we are talking about. But being in this platform, being in this blockchain, I learned that being an opportunist is a good sign. And you will find this true!

Ask yourself if you really believe that being an opportunist is bad!

I was questioning myself, I was in dilemma from the very beginning while using this platform about if I'm an opportunist and if that's a bad thing, how people will accept this behavior. I used to be very active in musing.io in my early days, sure for the easy rewards. And then it's gone. Later, I was trying Steemhunt for many months and I let it go also. There are several other frontends and Dapps, which I don't use anymore. I also left behind supporting many. So, I was always in question with my ethical standard.

Also, there are several things like I am adopting several new things and I am going with the flow actually. And this behavior of mine always makes me feel guilty. Because it makes me feel that I am an opportunist and as I also had the common understanding like others, that it's bad so I felt bad about myself. I was not actually getting support from myself to behave like this. But later, fortunately, when I learned more about it when I was looking for some answer on quora.com; I got the right answer.

It's not like I'm trying to prove my wrongs, establishing my feeling with theory. But this is the truth, actually. We need to understand this for our own good.

There is nothing to feel bad about Ii you are also an opportunist. Because you know opportunities means, you are putting self-interest before any other thing and you are flexibly adapting, changing yourself with circumstances. You are evolving yourself for the better. So there is nothing to feel bad about. Yeah, the truth is if you leave behind some of the dapps, some of the communities, some of the persons you used to support; it will always make you feel bad about yourself. But believe me, you are not a bad person at all.

You have to believe in yourself that you are believing in the norms. You are resourceful, you are self-informed and you are doing this for the better. If you don't believe me, try to dig in more, learn the modern theories. And as we have to find ways to survive in this platform, which is way more difficult so being an opportunist can be a good sign actually.

If you are in the same dilemma, negative feeling like mine; get over it. There's nothing to feel bad about. This is just a way of surviving & grow in this platform! You are not harming anyone, you are doing this for better. I hope, now you can answer the question better to yourself and to anyone else.
