Pickles from Street Cart | My Market Friday.

Who doesn't love adding some spicey, sweet & tangy pickles side to their meal? Or they can be enjoyed as snacks too!

During this summer season, we prepare different types of pickles for the whole year; usually with green mangoes, tamarind, olive, local Jujube, and more.

It takes a good hand at cooking to make the pickles taste perfect. Also, the process is time-consuming too. If you are a lazy cook like me, you can have pickles from street pickle carts. They are not like home but they are definitely good enough.

Let me share my experience!

I found this pickle cart in front of our nearby market. It's not a fixed shop/cart coz I never saw it. And I guess as it got wheels so it travels a lot!

The seller got around 15/16 types of pickles. I never usually buy pickles from the street markets because of hygiene issues. But this cart seems pretty nice to me.

My mouth is watering seeing these pictures. What about you?

The price of the pickles is very reasonable. For 100gm you have to pay $.30 to $1.50, depends on the variety. If you pay more/buy huge they will provide the pickle in a plastic jar. But other than that they use mini plastic bags to sell pickles.

I bought a container of tamarind pickle. It's sweet, sour, and tangy at the same time. Worth buying it.

Also, I had some mango (two types), local Jujube pickles. Everything tastes good.

We usually take it with rice but to get the best taste add some rock salt, red chili flecks, and enjoy your treat!

So that was my #MarketFriday. Have a wonderful weekend ahead...

Oh, that is awesome! I never thought of that. I have an Indian Bazaar every other Saturday downtown. I shall try there.

I like pickles with everything, even by themselves... Especially by themselves. :)) Have a wonderful evening there.
