Advent Drawing Challenge 2020: Fluffy Leaves
The season is changing, Samie the little raccoon is busy collecting dried leaves in the woods. She made sure she fluffed each one of them as she carried a bunch back home to decorate her home for this coming yuletide season
Hello creative community,
This is my second time to participate in the Advent Drawing Challenge 2020 of @london65 so far so good I am beginning to love it. This drawing is my interpretation of the December 6th prompt which is "Fluffy Leaves". I went for the same raccoon theme that I used yesterday on my first entry. I think raccoons are cute and I see them fit for this set of prompts we have this week which talks about changing of season. Funny how I kept editing this drawing until it was filled with lots of details. At first I was just going for a plain blank background just like my drawing from yesterday. To give you an idea of the process here are some screen shots:
My idea on this phase of the drawing is the struggle in holding a bunch of big leaves for me that will somehow depict the theme of being fluffly.
On the final line drawing you will see I added the tail, unlike yesterday I forgot to put one on my first drawing. Here I almost forgot about it but thank goodness I remember. Here I committed to the idea of raccoons. This is a girl raccoon for a change although I was debating whether to use the character from yesterday or not. I love the size of the leaves .
The challenge with using the same theme is consistency with the rest of the art that you will produce. So, here I prioritize the colors of the raccoon especially the bands on her face I had to be sure they are the same with my first drawing.
Putting on the base color and I had to color the tail first to be sure I never forget about it.
This could have been my final draft. Despite the added falling leaves and those on the ground, this still looks incomplete but for a moment I am already good with it until I added the trees on the background and that was very pivotal. I am glad I did that because I love the last and final draft. Hope you enjoyed reading about my journey as I complete this entry.
