Cobblestone streets

I mentioned in my Market Friday post how it was cool there is an area here in downtown New Bedford that has cobblestone streets in this post I will share a few,
But speaking of Market Fridya hosted by @dswigle, do not forget that tomorrow is Friday and hence a good day to do a Market Friday post.

Now one thing I loved about Walking around NYC was coming across some cobblestone streets which I loved getting shots of, so it was cool to see them in our new home city :)

Now generally when I take shots of cobblestone streets in the past I liked going with Mono edits as I thought it worked well with them, but for these shots I found for some of them I liked a color edit such as this next one.

But don't worry I did a couple in Mono such as this next shot with a sepia tone to it

But then I slip back into color for this next shot, which gives a tease for a future post with a bit of a mural, which was the main reason we headed downtown that day to check out some of the murals we have seen while driving through downtown.

Cobblestone streets are cool to see and for photos I like them as a subject, but driving over them is such a pain the whole car shakes and shudders, I guess they were at their peak for horse and carts more so than for modern vehicles.

And another mono shot of another of the streets downtown.

and finishing off with another color shot I guess the color of the trees is what made me do more color edits than mono

And that’s all folks

unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

I like the color versions a lot, the cobblestones suit to the surrounding houses and the Autumn colors very well.

That is so awesome! I love the cobblestone streets over in the New England area. I love the photos! I remember visiting Newport Rhode Island and how beautiful the streets were downtown there.

I love cobblestoned streets, one of the reasons I love NYC and Old San Juan, so many and so very beautiful The color is spot on with this shot and the black and white just doesn't do it justice.

Thank you so much for the shout out for #MarketFriday!!!

I have Aunt, Uncles, and cousins in Fall River!! So many things of interest you will like. I loved the St. Annes Basilica, but, I know that the last time I visited, there was talk of it closing down. It was like closing down St. Pats! I am not sure if it was bought or what, but, it is beautiful to photograph. They have a lot of stunning churches/cathedrals there.

The FlatIron Building, yes another! is on the corner of 2nd and Osborne, I think and down the street from the hospital, St. Annes, of course. LOL

Tremont Street is where I remember the bigger "cobblestones" which looked like big squares. It will be a fun trip. You will like it there.

I did a google searcha nd it seems that St Annes is still there and open and sure looks like a spot i would love to check out along with the others you mentioned
Definitely worth a visit there now, I have to go there to see the RMV/ DMV if I can ever get an appointment so may combine the two :)
