Our Internet is Finally Back ... Thanks Best and Uncle!! ^^

Last Sunday, there was a problem with our Internet connection. It was around 10 in the morning when mama woke me up to inform me that there was no Internet connection from around 8AM that day. She knew that I opened some classes in the afternoon and at night, so she got a bit worried about it. So I got up and checked our modem. This was how it looked like.

"Ohh!" I thought when I saw the LOS light is red instead of the normal yellow. I know there was wrong with the wiring outside because this wasn't the first time this happened. I then reported it to my Internet service provider and also to my male bestie who works in the company.

He confirmed my thoughts about the faulty wiring outside. He wanted to fix it right away but it was his day off, so he didn't have the tools to use. I also told him not to worry about my classes because I can use my phone's data and hotspot it to my laptop. I also didn't want him to come on a Sunday because I know it's his only time with his family. So, he told me he'd find time the next week.

I survived my classes that afternoon and night time, but my phone was worn out. I had to charge it constantly because using my phone data plus the hotspot thing to my laptop drains the battery easily. And so, my papa called my uncle who is also working in another Internet service company if they have available prepaid wifi. I think it's very useful as backup, so I need not sacrifice my phone.

Actually, they didn't have stocks for it because it's pretty much in demand these days because of the pandemic and people tend to work from home these days. Luckily though, my uncle decided to give his unit to us. Of course, we had to pay for it. Anyway, he was planning on selling it and apply to a monthly postpaid contract through his phone. So it's all good.

This noon (it's already Tuesday), my male best friend suddenly came. He told me that he wanted to check my line and fix it. Good thing he was able to excuse himself from his colleague and took my case. I already have my ticket which was given by the Internet provider to have my unit fixed. I'm so lucky to have this connection, really!

Since it was difficult to find which part of the wire was damaged, he decided to change the whole wire from the road to our house. In the picture above, he was trying to attach the last connector which will allow the Internet to flow again. :)

Since he was alone, papa assisted him in changing the wires. They even joked that papa should apply at his company. hahaha After attaching the last connector, our Internet is back!!!

I am truly glad to have a best friend who works in the Internet provider company. It's not that he can fix my problems anytime (since I still have to report it to the provider and ask for a repair ticket before he could come), but I am sure that the problem would really be fixed. He's really great at his job and it makes me proud!

Now that our main Internet source is back, it's much faster and easier to use! My data Internet Download speed only ranges from 8-10mbps while the upload speed is just around 1.5-2mbps. There's a huge difference and having access to faster Internet is really crucial for my job. :) So, I'm super glad that it's finally back! Will have to work again soon! ^^

I'm really thankful to my best friend for fixing our Internet connection and of course, my uncle who provided me with a backup prepaid Wi-Fi in case of Internet signal problems with my main provider. My phone can finally rest. Anyway, once I start working, I wouldn't have to use my phone that much. :)

How about you? Have you encountered Internet connection problems? Perhaps it's different in another country, but in the Philippines, it's often a problem to many...

Anyway, thanks for reading! See you again!
