A Day in The House Farm. #QuarantineMoments

The rains have begun falling, the grounds are getting soft, this is the best time to start making ridges in your farm. Today in the extended family house was a very busy one, everyone had a part to play.

Some had gone very early in the morning to our external farm to harvest some cassava which was planted 2 years ago, while we the younger ones stayed to work on the small farm in the house. Two things are going to be planted on this farm; Yam and Cassava. The ridges have been made, the yams have been planted too, today's was was about making narrow trenches in the ground about 1.2 metres deep so a bamboo can be fixed in.

These bamboos serve as growing support for the yam plant to receive sunlight as they mature. It is essential to use strong bamboos so that when heavy winds blow during the raining season, it doesn't break down. We were lucky that it had just rained that morning so it was not so hard digging those holes manually, alth3i still got blisters from farm work.
