Increase your Mental toughness and don't give up quick

We face difficulties in life. There are times we plan big for something and it will go sideways and seems all the effort used was never enough. I often think about the stories of some past successful scientists and businessmen. Thomas Edison conducted a failed experiment for over 1000 times, and years to get a solution. That is a height of consistency. Colonel Sanders got over 900 failed replies for his chicken and kept pressing forward in his 60s.

The reality is- sometimes in life we feel like giving up. This could be the things we call our dream, or that grand achievement we are aiming at. But circumstances are affecting things around it and seem to be so depressing. I have felt like giving up on things several times, but my inner mind would not allow me. I advice myself and pick up the fight again.

Mental toughness

Mental toughness is one important key to focus on your achieving your aim (s). Every year, over 1000 cadet join the United States Military Academy. In their first summer, the cadets are made to complete strenuous tests, known as the “Beast Barracks.”

These tests are to know those that are stronger and fit to be a United States Military. This will give an actual sense that those that finish these tests are stronger and bigger. However, a research was conducted by Angela Duckworth, of the University of Pennsylvania and found that it is not about their size, or how intelligent they are; it is about the perseverance, and passion to achieve the goals.
We all know that we need physical abilities to do something’s but mental toughness could drive you towards what you think you can’t do.

Every thought is a suggestion

First, you need to understand that over thoughts you have are suggestions. Your mind will tell you, you have tried. It will tell you, since you have failed 5 times, you should just ignore this one and move to another thing. But, if you think again, it may tell you that if you can achieve this thing, you will be happy.

There is a popular saying in my side of the world- “Orisa bi o bale gbe mi, se me bi o se bami”. The meaning is- “If this thing will not favour me, I will just leave it”. Someone somewhere created this bad adage many years ago, and some people adopted it into their life and use it to decide whatever they do. They lack consistency and perseverance.

The Result of good works is good.

See the brighter side of every situation. You may have wonderful reasons in your mind why you need to drop something because you can’t work it out again. You may be sick, weak, tired, depressed but think of how you started and how you labelled it “dream”. Right now I am not 100% healthy, but some of my peers that are healthier than I am do less than I do. I work more than them and create more than them. All I think is the result of what I am working at. How it would change my life and my family. How I will affect lives out there and make the world a better place.

Face Life

There is a centre of pain in life and we must all overcome the pain of consistency. It is difficult to face failure multiple time, but we must all face life as it is and pick the good thoughts from the suggestions on my mind. Failures are chances to start again.
