I started listening to Willow less than a month ago. I overheard it as a suggestion from spotify, I really liked the song called Time Machine, and I was surprised when looking at the cell phone and seeing that who was singing was the daughter of Will Smith. After I liked Time Machine, I decided to hear more from Willow, and I fell in love with 'Female energy part 2'since the first time I heard it. The lyrics of this song are simple but striking if heard with Willow's outspoken voice... While Willow sings this song, it's like my voice is feeling the same way she feels. I felt represented by these simple verses, in an unpretentious moment, while I just looked at the stars, lying in a hammock.

Sounds like a good, different idea to me. However, when you refer to art, it is in general. I mean, can I make a publication about painting? sculpture? thanks for a new initiative. Greetings.

Se você quiser, tenho uma sugestão... Bota assim... Pra ficar mais claro...

em vez de "Share a work of art you like at comments this post and tell what it makes you feel!"

bota "Comment below with an image of art you enjoy, explaining how it makes you feel."

Obrigada!

I thoroughly enjoy pixel art, so that's what I'm going with. But the best ones are often not in games. They are a kind of art on their own. As a medium of expression, I greatly sympathize with them because of my bond with gaming. But there's something very unique to works you'll find in this category. They feel outworldish. Like I want to be pulled in. Because they're not from any games, they are a world of their own.

I feel mesmerized by them. Every single time. That's how good I think non-gaming pixel art really is.

"Girl and Death", lithography by Edvard Munch.
(1894)
girl-and-death-1894.jpg

The uneasy, yet slow-compassed surprise that is, for us, as humans, coming in contact with this representation of one of our species doing something that goes against our nature. In this case, embracing death itself. We usually understand our own will to survive and live as something primary in our essence, so, about how far from this piece of the profound self do we have to be, to be able to accept, embrace and even...desire death? Do we ever ever feel so accomplished and fulfilled as to accept death as the step into non existence?
It's hard for me to explain the reason why I like this piece of work, even though it's very simple(visually speaking), but...this contrast between purity, life, beauty and death, as the end of everything there is, and even beyond the contrast, the tender relation between all of these things in this image. For me, it's very easily expressed genius...

Now that's a unique choice for the contest! You're right: the contrast is striking... and some of the best art is that which crosses those lines which we deem "inappropriate". Something like this wouldn't be hanging on my wall, personally, but I can certainly appreciate its significance. Thanks for the thoughtful interpretation! :)

1869 - fidelity-briton-riviere.jpg

I can't understand the text underneath, but the image is powerful... the sadness is palpable, and we feel most of it through the dog's eyes and body language. He hurts for his friend. It's a beautiful piece! :)

Talvez uma pintura conhecida. Pois teve vários quadros desse pintor japonês radicado no Brasil chamado Toshizo Nakane pelas casas brasileiras.

Done! And I wrote a whole POST about it too... but, in case you don't end up reading it, here's the art:

Sick Art at the NFT Showroom- FailingForwards.png

It makes me feel like none of us exist apart from each other, and yet we are impossibly divided by invisible fences. The strangeness of it all, the ethereal nature of life itself, is what keeps us all humble enough to live and fade away gracefully. All the world's a stage, as they say... and we act the part each day gives us.

And this piece was created by the father of an artist who was just messing around with some software, so it makes the final product much more impressive in my mind.

(Somehow that ended up being entirely different from what I wrote in my post, but it all works. Thanks for keeping the #art lovers engaged!)

Rene Magritte's The Banquet.

https://www.artic.edu/artworks/118718/the-banquet

alluring, enchanting. it is like staring at the sun, but safe on the eyes. the color of the "sun" is a perfect distillation of sunset. the parkland shown is contained, peaceful, a gentle green, but the sun bleeds through, suffuses the entire space with light. there is warmth and also dread.

i saw this piece in person at the Art Institute of Chicago. breathtaking. i could look at it for hours. my eyes are comforted and challenged in turn. i find it endlessly fascinating.

according to the site above, there are a few different variations on the piece. two are shown there, and it is a very slight change in the hue of the colors, as if a few minutes have passed and night is a step closer.

the sun is dying, and you will never see it again. but, miraculously, it is here again tomorrow.

What a fascinating piece! It doesn't seem right, but there it is: the sun placed in front of the tree like an empty dinner plate suspended on the cloth. And the colour of it, as you said, is so vibrant and real. I really do like it. Thanks for sharing! :)
