Slow and steady wins the race.

Its been a slow and steady rise in reputation for me.

I just noticed I have hit 66 today. I am so into gamification of my time here that where ever I can manage to get a badge or earn something that does not require tons of work I endeavor to gain them.

So when I just seen the new rank up in my rep points I am very much hopeful my rise will be steady even if a tad bit slow. I have seen so many hivers join well after me and are in the leagues of people who are way up in reputation. Some one a while ago kept saying rank makes no difference with them being in the 70s' and I was rolling my eye at them since they are pretty much always looking like they were maximising their position and pushing people down who were below them in rep.

I will say it is mainly people that have not had a big thing happen to their lives till they joined hive. What ever gets their dicks up is always a welcome call for anything well worth my time to just shake my head and ignore them and them being bullies.

I call them bullies because, frankly that is what they are. A spade is a spade.

Now as for me. I will say some things that can sometimes land me in hot water. I don't mind hot water since I love hot springs. I don't mind a little boil to raise my blood up into heights even I sometimes don't want to get too high up from. Its a hustlers world even in hive. I see lots of people hustling, I am one of them. Except I am lazy and sometimes do not bother to look at what is happening in a community to get me a maximised return to my already pathetic effort in writing something to my entries or on someone elses post. Of course I do have favourites. I am only human and it is far better to own what I know I am prone to do.

Like all humans I also have biases. Towards particular topics, people or even groups of people. If I was white I would probably be blasted as a racist. I am not a racist as I hate near almost everyone. But lean against particular groups based on their culture and at time I will say, their looks.

Jordan Peterson said something along the line of it is normal to have biases, this was the only way we humans survived in the past. I think it rings true to me. I can just look at someone and come to the conclusion they are not going to be part of anything within my circle of influence.

There is nothing wrong with sticking to who you jell with since after all that is what makes a strong well connected group is all about.

I like to toy with that concept of appearance bias. Using that character I created as my profile pic has been an interesting experiment.

Am sure you get lots of people look at it and wonder if they are dealing with a higher being or an alien wanting to toy with them through probes.

I think in my case because I have not made a generated profile pic, I feel the FOMO just a little.

If I know or suspect someone isn't being honest and I confront them, instead of talking to me about it, they'll quickly put all their focus on the art and attempt to discredit me, claiming I'm evil so therefore wrong, relying on a superficial suggestion they think would make them appear to be good in comparison, to any others viewing, in order to get them out of a jam. It's happened quite a few times and once they react that way, it tells me a lot about them; all their secrets.

What happens to their defense if I change the picture? LOL!

Never wise to use appearance biases for nefarious purposes. That always makes them the ones looking bad.

Far out, why though?

they'll quickly put all their focus on the art and attempt to discredit me

I mean why go through artwork to create a narrative against the artist. Then again see all the shit happen in France towards the newspapers. I can see crazy people do shit when they see art.

If they are crazy enough they will come up with any kind of reasoning to suit their intended narrative or slight.

Boils down to human psyche I suppose. If someone's evil, they'll do evil things. A lot of people present themselves as perfect, when they're trying to hide something. Especially in social media. They're exploiting appearance bias for personal gain. Majority of the shadiest charlatans around here had smiling faces.
