Uncertainly Clear

The daylight saving jump at the start of the week has knocked me slightly off course and it's given me some thoughts about the structure of my morning routine.

The one thing that I have been finding somewhat difficult to do in the morning is writing. Getting into the zone takes a little bit of time and if I'm honest with myself I think my efforts are better once I've eaten later in the day.

It might even be worth trying to write more at night since I've noticed that I'm flooded by ideas as soon as I put my head down to sleep.

I've had some pleasant interactions over the past few days on some of my posts and found people here on the platform that I'm genuinely interested in. It makes the experience of sharing what's on my mind much more fulfilling when I can learn about how others are living and what their thoughts are.

On the other side of things, I've noticed some doubts I've been having or I've found myself thinking "If I don't have anything to say, don't type". It is reflected sometimes in what I share.

I'm pretty sure this is just the ebb and flow of daily life and could probably be a call to action for me to take it easy.

A whole lot of whining and justifications to myself in this short post but I think it's a necessary line in the sand for me. I need to remind myself to stop giving too much of a fuck and just do my thing.

If I don't have anything to say, don't type

I have those moments; I have this urge to write but have nothing at the top of my mind. So I usually grab a pen and paper and start free writing. Maybe start with a prompt, or just state my current mindset.

I'll give that a go @takeonrules. I'll stick to pen and paper instead of typing too and see if it is any better. Most of my posts are just freewriting and a little edit at the end/next day in all honesty. It's probably going to be better for me to ditch the daily posts and put in that extra effort to improve the quality.

Cheers for the tip!

We are about three weeks into our time change here in the US. I'm just now starting to feel like things are normal again. Not a big fan of the change and our state (Oregon) keeps hinting at staying on Daylight time but needs California and Washington to follow suit so not sure if it will ever happen.

"If I don't have anything to say, don't type"

I've gone through this a lot. I kind of started spreading myself out to other communities and interests trying to get the creative juices flowing. It seemed to work pretty well for me. Now though, I also have the flood of ideas at night sometime when I am trying to sleep. :)

It's a weird feeling. Kind of seems like you're always lagging behind as you go about your day lol. I did see something in the news about that, do you think it would be beneficial?

That's a good approach and it makes sense too. I may need to dip my toes into some other ponds and see what finds me. The ideas at night in bed are so frustrating for me because I make a point of not looking at screens before bed so my only option is to write the ideas down in the dark lol (I don't have a bed-side light).

I've read about some health benefits as well as possibly fewer overall accidents due to fatigue and such. I am not really sure of the reasons for continuing it so I guess I would have to research that. I'd like to give it a try at least.

I need to remind myself to stop giving too much of a fuck and just do my thing.

I think most of us are too hard on ourselves, thriving for a perfection that sometimes in not within out grasp. Of course is better to post something that makes you proud, but I think is good sometimes to just let it flow and see where that gets you. One thing I learned from performing arts is that you can't control what people understand from what you say, so always put your heart into it that people will feel you.

If I don't have anything to say, don't type
This is a true struggle, but at the same time I think is a great exercise to pass that an go for it. Most of the time a simple comment like "This was great, thanks for sharing" is enough to make a good day for someone who posted. Again, of course is better to say something meaningful or that adds to the post, but sometimes is all right just to acknowledge the effort from the writer.

I don't know if that made any sense, but my guts told me to write them for you, so here it is. I hope this words help you in anyway, and I'm glad that you are here sharing with us your thoughts and whinnies. Keep on shining my friend!

Oh, it made perfect sense to me, it's much appreciated! You're definitely on the money about how hard we can be on ourselves. It's easy to get caught up in a weird feedback loop.

Thanks for the response buddy.
