The 4th Is Strong In This One☄

I'm a collector. Always have been, probably always will be. I believe the first things I began to collect were rocks. Then I found a few metallic ones - some iron pyrite and I don't remember where I found it, but a chunk of pewter - and my parents turned me on to coins. Soon after, my grandfather bought me a pack of 1988 Donruss baseball cards. You know, the blue ones with (at the time) the sought after Gregg Jefferies and Bo Jackson cards (to name a few). I also remember Nolan Ryan, Don Mattingly and Wade Boggs were real hot ones then. But, it just grew exponentially from there.

So for me, cryptocurrency was virtually a seamless transition with all the tokens and coins. I always try to keep my eye out for weird things that would be cool to collect and even since joining Hive, I've picked up a new passion thanks to the pirates in #silvergoldstackers and my PIMP - @saffisara. One thing I picked up, what seems like forever ago - was a Darth Vader Bobble Head. They were really hot in 2005, and that was also the year that Revenge of the Sith came out and Anakin became Vader so it seemed fitting to snatch it up, never open it and put it on a dust-gathering shelf.

Aside from Windu and Han, Vader was my favorite, especially since he was more force oriented than any Jedi ever. He even had the immaculate Jesus-type conception. Funny how they made him into a bad guy being the 'chosen one' and all. Of course, all the legend said was "he will bring balance to the force" and from his loins, he accomplished that. Bwahahahaaa! Anyhooz, may the 4th be with you awesome Star Wars fans out there and need I remind you to REMEMBER TO BE YOU? I always am, even when #memorylane is a winding road.

Dam I remember those 88 cards, that’s the year the slammed the printing presses wide open. It was the demise of card collecting. It took years for it to gain speed again and super limited editions like Upper Deck SP Jeter rookie.

Oh ya man, in '89 when UD came out, they really went off the rails with other companies and their mass production. Was also the closing years of the 'wax pack' era of cards. Did you ever get any Topps or Fleer with that brittle powdery gum? Can still taste it 😂

I believe the first things I began to collect were rocks.

I've never been much of a collector but I used to collect rocks and gems back when I was a kid. My granddad was always telling me about them and we'd do some collecting on the beach. He even made me a necklace with an amethyst (I guess that purple flair rubbed off on me, lol).

Great to see your post in the POB community bud, it's been a while! Hope you and the family are keeping well.
