Is There An End To Paradise?

The saying, All good things must come to and end suggests that there could be an end to paradise. However, I am of the opinion that paradise is not a place, it is not a destination, it is not even the journey, to me paradise is the mindset with which you approach the journey. So, is there an end to paradise? Well that would depend on entirely on you.

My life started in a paradise of sorts, a happy childhood where it was all about fun and games. The onset of adolescence brought with it problems of it own and problems of the world added on it as years went by. Personal loss of the closest kind was something I experienced at the cusp of my teen years, I lost the one whom I loved the most, my dad. Life seemed grim and almost empty after that. There was void in my world, my paradise until then came to an end came to an end and life in the desert began. It was a struggle like none other, the darkness of the times, the lack of wisdom and guidance, the lack of the right mindset made the paradise I lived in seem like a dessert.

This desert season lasted until I learned who I am, and what I could be. I understood that this paradise that I was searching for was within me. There is temptation in paradise from the beginning of times. Temptation to make wrong choices, temptation to throw away the paradise you inherited for a seemingly better one, history has repeated itself over and over again and all of us know these truths.

The end of paradise begins when you run after the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Oftentimes we do not wait to stop and admire the beauty of the rainbow. If we did, we wouldn't be chasing after that nonexistent, mythical and delusive pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. We would be happy with the paradise we currently live in, the beautiful rainbow that graces it, the amazing play of rain and sunshine that caused and this beauty to linger on waiting to makes us happy.

“Remember that wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure.”

Not a very original quote from by Paulo Coelho in 'The Alchemist' (he would be sued for plagiarism by the gospel writer Matthew on behalf of Jesus in our times for not only robbing those words but switching up differently.) “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also,” (Matthew 6:21) is how Matthew says it. I will try switching this up a bit differently, Paradise is where your heart is. What I mean here is that your personal paradise lies with you the ones you love. For me its my husband, my boys, my home and what we created loving together for ourselves.

Will paradise ever end? I don't think paradise ever ends as long as there is love and happiness in the world, it may change its appearance, or in the way it functions, but love is forever.

Paradise ends for those who decide to quit or end it themselves. The sky remains blue always even though the rain clouds gather. It is just a veil that hangs over, patience and time will reveal to you that the beautiful blue sky still remains behind the veil.

Paradise is the walk towards the rainbow, not to the end of it. Standing in awe looking at the colors, the hues as the colors combine, the magic of these colors coming together the beauty of it all becoming light once again.

Paradise is extending your arms towards the rainbow like a little child wanting to embrace it all in her tiny arms and believing in her heart that she has truly embraced it and taken a part of it with her to her home. Paradise is embracing the beauty that each day has to offer and keeping snapshots of these in the store house that stands majestically in memory lane.

Paradise is the positivity that edges the darkest cloud with the brightest silver lining. Paradise is the hope that lives on for ever. When a seeds falls to the ground and is covered in dirt, it seems like the end of the world for that seeds. Nonetheless when hope sprouts as tiny green leaves a paradise is progress. A future paradise for birds, animals, little and big creatures in the future who would call it their home. Hope is never ending. Hope is the raised hand of a dying man being carried away by the tides of time. It only ends when he gives up and yields to his fears.

Paradise is in the mind of the brave, in the courage of the soldier, in the wing of the eagle in the storm. Although the eye doesn't see it the minds senses that there is a paradise beyond and faith takes it to where his paradise is.

Paradise is when you fight for what you believe in and know that even though it has been denied to you temporarily you will see it for sure. Paradise isn't perfect, it has snakes and wild animals in it, but who you listen to your fear or your faith that decides whether you paradise remains a paradise or it is the end of the paradise for you. Paradise is in your choices.

Like hope, faith is the central theme in paradise. Faith in yourself, your values and the truth. when you walk away from these your mind becomes the hell that you fear. The discord inside brings your paradise to an end. The hell within breaks lose to make the paradise outside akin to the hell within. Paradise is unity of mind and spirit. Paradise is being one whole entity.

The cracks of disbelief and doubt allows other elements to crawl into your paradise and make it a living hell for you. These are the portals that allow the entry of evil into your mind to shatter your peace and that of your world. Faith is the firm cement that keeps your world in unity.

Greed and ambition to grab the stars and planets and put them under our feet leads to a fall. If we would only hanker after what we truly need we would still remain in paradise, but grabbing beyond our needs and letting them lie waster to make a vulgar display of luxuries makes the world around a place of suffering and misery.

Paradise is widened when we share, we extend the boundaries of our personal paradise to make others happy. Being content with what we have and still reaching out to others makes our paradise richer by the day. Paradise in not limited in its resources as its resources are not something tangible and easy to measure. Paradise doesn't end.

We can never carry anything beyond the grave just as we didn't bring anything out of the womb. Paradise is complete in itself, it needs nothing from this world, just the right mindset, faith, hope, love, selflessness and brotherhood would ensure that paradise doesn't ever end.

As I look back at the fifty plus years of my life I would say paradise is my heart. The moments I have allowed myself to be upset, anxious, unhappy, fearful and hopeless are the moments that I almost allowed paradise to slip out of my hands. Thankfully the lessons I have learned from life doesn't not allow me to stopover in those places for long. This journey of life has such abundance to offer and paradise is locked up in this journey. Anyone willing to discover it would surely find it for themselves.

Absolutely, plan to go back and read it myself this week.
Try an audio book if you want to relax at the beach.
