Have you ever been called "bizarre"? // Você já foi chamado de Bizarro?
I already do! And not just once, which reinforces the idea, but honestly, I always had the word "bizarre" as an adjective, not as something negative or heavy. This probably comes from my adolescence, where every self-respecting young man brings out his ideas, rebellions, and bitterness. And for me, the concept of "bizarre" was equivalent to "interesting". It was not by chance that I listened to songs from "The Residents" or even "Charles Manson", but forgive me! I was just a teenager learning about the world.

I liked to go deep in the most bizarre that I could, either in my art (like that one that open my post), or in the disturbing films that I watched with pleasure, such as the absurd animations of "Jan Švankmajer" like the one that I leave it here for your leisure.
After all, it became clear to me that the "bizarre" was part of the world of man, that the human being itself is bizarre and that when we try to repress this chaotic nature, we tend to become plastic, sad, closed, or worse, insignificant. I always made room for my bizarre self and it fed a lot of the great things I think I did. Whether through short films I created with friends in the past, like this one, called The Chair, posted on Youtube 15 years ago, when we were mere teenagers trying to create art from scratch, with a very bad digital camera, no money and a lot of desire to create.
Anyway, if the concept of "bizarre" do not fits to me, I probably wouldn't have done any of that, or even avoid all this artistic chaos and limit what does not offend or stranger the other human beings around us. And of course, when I talk about offending, I don't mean in pejorative and wrong terms, just what makes an impact, which can make people see things from other angles and sometimes cause beautiful surprises. Eu já. E não apenas uma vez, o que faz um certo reforço na ideia, mas sinceramente, eu sempre tive a palavra "bizarro" como um adjetivo, não como algo negativo ou pesado. Isso provavelmente venho da minha adolescência mesmo, onde todo jovem que se preze traz a tona suas ideias, rebeldias e amarguras. E para mim, o conceito de "bizarro" era equivalente ao "interessante". Não por acaso eu ouvia músicas do "The Residents" ou até mesmo do "Charles Manson", mas perdoem-me! Eu era apenas um adolescente aprendendo sobre o mundo.
Muitas das artes que eu gosto de fazer acabam envolvendo alguma distorção da realidade, seja num sentido psicodélico e absurdo ou seja de uma forma onírica e perturbadora
Eu gostava de ir fundo na mais bizarro que eu pudesse, seja na minha arte (como as que eu postei logo abaixo), seja nos filmes perturbados que eu assistia com prazer, como por exemplo as animações absurdas de "Jan Švankmajer" como essa que deixo aqui para o lazer de vocês.
Afinal, foi ficando claro para mim que o "bizarro" fazia parte do mundo do homem, que o ser humano em si é bizarro e que quando tentamos reprimir essa natureza caótica, tendemos a nos tornar plásticos, tristes, fechados, ou pior, insignificantes. Eu sempre dei espaço para meu eu bizarro e isso alimentou muito das grandes coisas que penso ter feito. Seja através dos curtas que criei com os amigos no passado, como por exemplo este, chamado A Cadeira, postado no Youtube há 15 anos atrás, quando éramos meros adolescentes tentando criar arte do zero, com uma camera digital muito ruim, nenhum dinheiro e muita vontade de criar.
Enfim, se não fosse o conceito do bizarro e de o mesmo caber perfeitamente em mim, provavelmente eu não teria feito nada disso, ou até mesmo evitaria todo esse caos artístico e limitaria ao que não ofende nem estranha os outros seres humanos que nos rodeiam. E claro quando falo ofender, não quero dizer em termos pejorativos e errados, apenas aquilo que causa um impacto, que pode fazer as pessoas verem as coisas por outros ângulos e causar as vezes belas surpresas.

No, but much worse. I got bullied both in the elementary school and in the middle school. Both verbally and physically. My step father also hurt me (us), when I was a child.
